Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

KCCO - Livingston decidedly pink :(

Continuing with my obsessive knitting, I decided to start on a project that had been in my queue for much too long - the Livingston sweater. It's such an adorable little sweater and I know it will look brilliant on Little L. I scoured the Ravelry MadTosh sport stash database for the perfect colorway at a reasonable price. I thought I found it. The colorway is called calligraphy. The price was pretty good and it looked like a nice gray with tan undertones. For whatever reason I felt it necessary to ask the seller if there was any pink in it. She told me no so I went ahead and bought it.

When it arrived I was just so excited to start a new project that I barely looked at the yarn and just cast on. I spent a late night blissfully knitting. In the light of my desk lamp the yarn looked like a very pale gray, but the light of day showed me something different. This colorway is decidedly pink. On the bright side I know just the project I can use this yarn on while I wait for some new yarn to replace this. I just can't handle the thought of idle hands right now!

What are you working on? Happy creating!

Calligraphy does look a bit pink but when you are finished it really doesn't. I think you will like it, I did even though I had the same concerns. Good luck. I'm knitting a sweater too. Madtosh is such a yummy yarn. I adore knitting with it.
Oh no! I thought Calligraphy was a very pale beige-ish grey too. I always scour rav for colours before I buy but sometimes I get surprised too. On the upside, it's gorgeous anyway, so glad you can use it for something else:)
I have a friend who is absolutely addicted to Madtosh yarns. It's funny how different things will look in various types of light or on a screen - to me this doesn't look grey at all, but more of an oatmeal beige color with a hint of peach or pink. Hmm, I maybe should adjust my settings? :) It does look like lovely yarn though - I'm so glad you have another project that it's a fit for.
What lovely yarn! I think your Little L would look just adorable in pink! :) My son doesn't mind a little pink sometimes!
The yarn looks grey in my computer, I think is sort of the thign that happens with the red yarn: it never is like the original.

Thanks for hosting!
well that will be a lovely sweater when you get the yarn you want. still that yarn is lovely as well. :)
Cute sweater pattern. Sorry the color didn't work out for you, but I am sure you can use it in another project.
I'm a little late entering this week...better late than never right? :-) You are amazing, not sure how you find time to do all you do!
