Essential Oil LOVE

Disclosure: I don't post about products unless I fully believe in them and I would never recommend a product or resource for the sole purpose of being compensated financially. If I write that my family and I love something, you can 100% trust that we truly do. These essential oils I am writing about below have truly been a blessing to my family and I wanted to pass this on to all of you, so you can experience it for yourself. If you chose to make a purchase through YL, you are not only receiving incredible oil but you are also being a blessing to us as we will receive a small percentage of the sale. All of these proceeds made help out our family with homeschooling, music lessons or other extremely meaningful teachings that my children would not have otherwise. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.

I have a feeling that a lot of you already know about essential oils and may even use them on a daily basis but for those of you that haven't come across them before you may be wondering -

What are essential oils? How can a tiny drop really do anything?

Essential oils are highly concentrated liquid extracted from leaves, stems, flowers, bark, roots, or other plant elements. This liquid is typically distilled to make a pure oil. If you are wondering just how concentrated an essential oil can be, it has been estimated that it takes around 3,000 lemons to make 2 pounds of lemon essential oil. So I think you can see just how concentrated one little drop can be!

Essential oils were used in many different ways in my children's Waldorf classrooms back in Oregon. I was always trying to soak in as much knowledge as I could from their wise teachers so I knew that if they used essential oils, I needed to as well. I actually first got into essential oils through my former Waldorf teacher friends back in Virginia when K was a baby. I just never immersed myself as deeply as I could have, and have now!

To be honest, what held me back from ordering a Young Living essential oil kit was the cost. It’s no secret, essential oils can be quite costly. However once I invested in it, I realized was getting essential oils at a wholesale price, and with all of the various ways I can use them (more on that in a minute), I was saving our health and a lot of money! Plus, you can make a bottle of oil last for months.  It’s up to you how long you make these oils last.

Just a few of the ways we use our essential oils:

Natural (and safe!) beauty routines: I make my own deodorant with the YL lemon oil, and use frankincense mixed with coconut oil as my daily moisturizer. Then, of course, there are the concoctions I make for the family like hand sanitizer, soap, bug-itch spray -  This is just the beginning!

To clean and purify our home: I use essential oils every day as I clean. Along with vinegar and baking soda, I used to purchase the “natural” cleaners at the store to avoid the chemicals found in most cleaning products. But boy were they expensive! Making my own cleaners is saving us so much and I feel better knowing that our home is safer, not to mention the soothing feeling lavender has on me as I am scrubbing away at cat throw up or something even less appealing.

Immune Support: Whenever my kids are exposed to bugs in the community I turn to Thieves oil (and many others) to give them some immune support.

As a mama of three children I’m thankful to have these oils in my home to use on the many childhood bumps and bruises. I use Young Living essential oils as I know I can safely use this high quality oil on my entire family.

I started a pinterest board of all the wonders of essential oils (and recipes) here and you can find my own uses and recipes for them here on the blog.

So, about that essential oil kit I kept mentioning:

YLEO YL diffuser YLEO
There are eleven oils, a diffuser, some samples to share with friends, and some literature  in the Premium Starter Kit. I highly recommend oily newbies start here, but experienced friends will appreciate this set, too. I know I do - The Thieves oil and diffuser were worth it alone! You can address sooo many issues with this kit and it really is a wonderful deal.  I also recommend the Aroma Diffuser, because it’s more aesthetically pleasing to me personally but the big reason I suggest this one is that it has both a  1-hour and 4-hour timer that shuts off automatically.  If you have a mama brain like me, this is a must.

How to get your hands on the Premium Starter Kit:

1. Click over to the sign-up page: https://www.youngliving.com/vo/#/signup/start?site=US&sponsorid=1994504&enrollerid=1994505
2. Select “Sign Up As: Young Living Wholesale Member” (this secures you the 24% off discount on all future orders. Retail customers do not get this discount.)
3. The “Enroller ID” and “Sponsor ID” boxes should already be filled in for you.  If they aren’t, fill in 1994505 in both spots.
4. Fill out your name, billing address, shipping address, and contact info. (The reason you are asked for your SSN is for tax purposes; if you decide to sell Young Living products and make over $600 a year, you will receive a 1099 form in the mail, as is required by law.  Young Living never shares this info with anyone, and you’re not obligates to sell anything if you do not want to. I promise I wouldn’t lead you astray here!)
5. Create your password and pin which you will use to log in to your account and order your oils.  Write these down.  Like I forgot to do.
6. Select your enrollment order.  This is where you can specify which starter kit you would like. I recommend the Premium Kit with the Aroma Diffuser.  The basic kits do NOT contain the Everyday Essentials 10-oil box!!  Only the Premium kits contain these.  :)
7. It will ask if you want to sign up for the Essential Rewards program. Click "no".
8. Agree to Terms & Conditions
9. CONFIRM YOUR ORDER. Some folks miss this step and end up not fully checking out.  To confirm, the tool will log you in and it will show you your order again and it will make you enter in your payment information again.
10. Wait for your package to arrive! This step will be agonizing, but it will all be worth the wait.
