Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

KCCO - candles for Santa Lucia swap <3 KCCO - beeswax angel

I found out about a craft swap for Saint Lucia's day very recently and decided that I needed to join. Do I really have the time for it? No. But Saint Lucia is my patron saint and my son's namesake so I just couldn't resist. I have some wool roving stars and felted candles in the works as well as some beeswax angels.

Apparently I am not storing my beeswax molds properly as they are all cracking and warping. Any advice on preventing this in the future? How do you store yours?

What are you working on?! Happy creating!

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress (or finished works) please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on. Don't forget that there is now a KCCO Flickr group for you to share your crafting photos at anytime.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the KCCO posts you may visit. I know from my own experience just how much your comments really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

Oh my goodness, I love those felted candles you've crafted! And you've whet my appetite for doing some crafting with beeswax. Those angels will be beautiful!
Those felted candles are AMAZING! I have been wanting to try felting but just can't seem to get started. Thanks for sharing your work! :-)
your candles look amazing! wish i could post what i've been working on but my camera is on the fritz :P
I am curious what you would use beeswax figures for. Are these to be burned/melted? Or simply for decorative purposes? It seems to me like they wouldn't have a very long "shelf life", but I've never worked with it before.

just for decoration. My girls have a beeswax Nativity they put up every year. If something happens to one of the figures we can just melt it back down, remake it and they are good to go. We have a few beeswax plaques from nine years ago and the yare still in great condition. I think as long as you keep them away from heat they can last quite some time.
What a great idea!
I love the candles!
Those candles are stunning!
I love the idea of a craft swap. I'm trying to learn about more ways to honor the day, it is also my daughter's namesake. She's not much into actual candles :), the felted ones are fantastic. Have a great weekend.

Oh I love that Saint Lucia is your daughter's namesake, too! I have quite a few Saint Lucia posts if you are looking for ideas :)
