Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

destined to become curtains KCCO

I am on quite a roll with sewing. While searching for fabric online I had a serendipitous discovery - fabric from the same line as these curtains on clearance (only $4 a panel!!) I could not believe my fortune. Perfect for making into curtains for my studio space. They will surely brighten the place up!

My AMH pattern arrived and I set to work on some shorts for Little L straight away. The first pair (my trial pair) is just waiting for me to hem and the second pair is cut out and ready to sew. It took me a long time to actually cut into that Heather Ross fabric you see above. As silly as it sounds, I love it so, and it has long since been out of print so I was afraid to take scissors to it and mess it up. Fingers crossed it all ends well. Little L can't wait for his "bug van shorts".

Over the weekend I purchased the geranium dress pattern (thanks to Kyrie) and I am dying to use it!!  I have some specific fabric in mind to make the girls a set of dresses but I might have to dig into my stash and see if I have enough to test the pattern out while I wait. I just can't ever have idle hands. I haven't done this much sewing in ages. I am loving every minute of it. Spring, please don't ever end!

What are you working on?! Happy creating!

so much fun, Nicole! can't wait to see how things turn out!
Ooh! I love the vintage-inspired fabric!
Love, love the fabric. Always have a soft spot of VW Camper vans
What a welcome sight that square dance voile is! I've always wanted to make a quilt out of her voile, it's so cheerful and beautiful. I hope that you love the Geranium pattern. It is my go to. Thanks for hosting, Nicole!

It is so cheery, isn't it? I am loving the pattern so far, I started a dress for K but then realized I needed to pause and work on C's dresss first (her birthday is in April)
I just cast on for the "Top-down bonnet with Anime character" from Hello Yarn, only with Malabrigo and no Anime character (ew).

Oh how fun! I tried that when I very first learned how to knit and failed big time. I should try it again.
There is definitely something about spring that makes us want to sew! Gorgeous fabrics, I can't wait to see your finished projects.
That fabric is to die for! Having owned a couple of Westfalias in our early 20's that would be cherished in our home as well!
love the fire truck fabric and that yellow! So cheerful on these drab days!
Thanks for hosting!
Oh, the geranium dress is so wonderful - I made one for Julia last spring & am going to buy the pattern in the larger sizes so I can make her another this year. She loved it... xo
The little camper print is SO cute! The dress pattern looks lovely, very modest and very sweet! You'll have to tell us how it is to sew up!

Blessings,
Samantha Disch {Wild Maple Wool}
