Won't You Join Me?

*The ROTH site is gone. You can now find this tutorial here.*

Grab a cup of tea and join me for the latest edition of Rhythm of the Home. We contributed a wool acorn necklace tutorial. Ahhh yes, that's what all those acorn caps were for! This may be one of my most favorite issues yet, there are so many things I want to create from it. I am so thrilled to be a part of such an inspiring online magazine. I have been missing it since the last time.
Check out their blog, too, for some great giveaways - including one of our wool acorn necklaces.

I have an excruciatingly painful toothache right now, so I have lost the ability to concentrate. Please allow me to try to share whine for a moment. Quite frankly this toothache has been nothing but a thorn in my side. I have always had good, healthy teeth but then when I was about 20 I got a cavity. The cavity was taken care of but the tooth still hurt me, nothing horrible but more of a dull pain. None of the dentists I saw could figure out why it hurt as everything looked fine. A month ago I saw a dentist here in Oregon and he finally saw what the problem was with that tooth. The filling wasn't put in properly and there was a big gap allowing things to reach the nerve. He said he could fix it for me, Hallelujah, but our insurance doesn't cover me 100% so we had to hold off on it. Now all of the sudden, 12 years after it was first filled, that same darn tooth is killing me! The pain is traveling up my sinuses, too causing major sinus headaches. Ughh! I have my fingers crossed I can get in to the dentist before this long holiday weekend (Labor Day, for those of you out of the states). I just wish it was done right the first time, know what I mean? Anyways, that's enough whining out of me, go check out Rhythm of the Home!

Thanks for the reminder! I've been a little overwhelmed and distracted by babies, children, vintage, vacations, etc! I can't wait to take a minute and admire...
Ouch! I do hope you can get in tomorrow and have that tooth fixed up. Looking forward to the Autumn issue of RoH! Your acorn necklaces are gorgeous!!
Ugh, tooth pain, it is rough! I had bad filling from my childhood and finally got them fixed a few years back, can't imagine if I had stayed with the same dentist. This may sound silly, but have you considered an amber necklace to help with the pain? It won't fix your teeth, obviously, but maybe it can make it more bearable until the dentist can work on it...

You know I didn't even think of that! I shall have to try it!

And fall rhythm of the home is up??? YESssssss....
Oh, a toothache, is there anything worse? I do hope you're able to get in quickly.
About ROTH, I know, I was pouring over it yesterday, sooo much goodness!
Thanks so much for sharing! We will have to make these this year. :-) I hope your mouth and whole head is feeling better soon. I've been battling the worst sore throat this week and sympathize.

I hope you are feeling better by now!!!!
Shame Nicole, I hope your tooth is better soon, that is the worst pain! ROTH is wonderful.
I wish you a peaceful and painless weekend.
(PS Someone suggested I suck on dried cloves when I had terrible tooth ache last year, I kept the cloves near to the sore tooth, it actually did help the pain subside for a short while:)
Love

Thinking of you and hoping you can get in soon.

Yes, teeth prolems pretty much started with pregnancy - my little ones are stealing all my calcium :)
The acorn necklaces are wonderful, and we will have to make a batch this autumn!
I do hope your toothache is soon taken care of...any pain in one's head is so awful and consuming!
I'll be taking a look at the new issue this weekend!
Oh Nicole, If you have a health food store nearby or already have clove oil in your medicine cupboard try putting a drop or two on the tooth, it really does work.

Thank you! Trying that..
Oh I do hope you can get help for your tooth soon! In the meantime, possibly you in fact have a sinus infection that is causing more intense pain in the tooth? Treat the sinus infection, and the more intense pain in the tooth may subside?

Luckily it's not a sinus infection (this time) the headache went away the day after I had my tooth refilled. I got lucky with that.
Sorry you're feeling that way. I'm scheduled for my first ever root canal. Try to take care of it as soon as you're able. Maybe starting a new line-item in the budget? I know that's difficult when money is so tight. Love the acorn necklaces!
Was thinking...is there a dental school somewhat near you? Perhaps they would do the procedure - sometimes I've heard they do things free of charge or at a very reduced cost. Just a thought.

It sounds like you may end up having a root canal at some point, no fun! Nicole, did you ever get my email with my address info. for the Carefree Clothes for Girls book giveaway? I never received the book, and I'm thinking that since you didn't reply to my email, maybe you never got it. Please let me know, thanks!

When I read that, it made me very grateful for the NHS here in the UK. Admittedly not all Dentists are NHS these days, most are private, but for sure if a situation was desperate, treatment would be provided free of charge. Am praying that, you get the help you need.
