Labor of Love

unrelated pictures of some of the girls' flower bouquets from earlier this summer

In celebration of Labor Day, I thought I would take the day away from the blog this labor of love to spend time with my family. I also need to quickly finish a couple of projects for K's first day back at school this Friday. Eeeeek!
I hope you are all enjoying this long weekend. See you tomorrow for the next Rhythm In Our Home installment.

Happy Labor Day, everyone!

Oh, and thank you for your advice and well wishes on my tooth pain. I was able to get in to the dentist before the long weekend. He went ahead and re-did the filling but said he gave it a 50/50 chance of working. He thinks I may need the dreaded root canal (enter suspenseful music here). I have to go back in a couple of weeks to see how it's going. Right now I can eat and drink so that's a huge improvement already.
Our dental insurance isn't all that great (are government perks ever all that great?). It covers Kevin 100% but not the rest of us. I was in so much pain I just had to go, though, so we went back on our 'getting out of debt' progress and used a credit card. *sigh* We'll pay it off quickly and get back on track though!

Hope you have a lovely labor day and week getting ready for school. I'm currently trying to get my first sweater knitted for my baby who is starting kindergarten this year, though i wont be done before he goes Tuesday!
and Glad to see you got the tooth looked at. I think that something like an emergency dental visit is a valid reason to use the credit you have available to you. Praying that the new filling works out.

I didn't get it all done like I wanted to but *fingers crossed* I'll get it done in time. I love that you are knittinhg your little one a sweater for kindi, so special. Thank you for your prayers!
Take it from the wife in a couple who, between the two of us, have had 15 root canals: If they say you need a root canal, you need one. Teeth that have major problems do not take well to being re-filled. I just had three done in the past two months & my insurance was already maxed out. Thankfully, we had money saved up for the first two, but the third went on the credit card, not much we could do about it. I would have a broken arm fixed whether I could pay cash or not, kwim?

So true. Thank you for that. It feels a lot better now but I think it will still need the root canal. I'd rather just do it and get it done with, kwim?
Glad you are feeling better! I live in dread of dental problems, as I know what a financial drain they can be!
Lovely shot of the forget-me-nots! My favorite flowers, up there with snowdrops and lily of the valley...

I don't know if you can have access to it, but I needed some emergency dental work and was able to apply for a care credit card and it is interest free for 6 months, which I was able to pay off in installments. you can just search them and see if there is someone in your zip code that accepts payment that way.
Hope you had a wonderful day with your family and your projects for back to school came to completion.

Thank you, I have never heard of that. Worth looking into for sure!
In case you need the root canal, I just want to say that the one I had was NO BIG DEAL. From the way people talk, I was prepared for incredible torment. When it was over, my reaction was "Huh? That's all?" Basically it was just a longer sit in the chair for a somewhat more involved filling. And I've had no troubles with that tooth since, so it was worth the expense. Dental pain is horrible, as you know.
