Crafting On

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two, post it on your blog, on Instagram #craftingon and/or Flickr and then share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

I can't remember if I shared these desks on here or if it was only Instagram but you might remember these photos from last summer. We found these school desks for sale and I couldn't pass them up. I had been looking for something like them for years. The only problem was the intense paint. You can see the gorgeous dark wood underneath it on the green one. I was hoping to strip the paint off and bring back their natural beauty. Well, almost a year later and hours of trying to strip just one chair I have given up. That green paint penetrated layers of wood making it impossible to strip all the way. I was able to sand the tabletop part down enough so that I can keep that natural wood but the chair itself is getting a coat of white paint right after I finish typing this. Not what I originally imagined but I think it will look good nonetheless.

What are you working on? Happy creating!

I hope so! We shall see!!
Boy! Memories flooded in my mind as I looked at those desk chairs. I had not thought of those chairs for years! Mine were brown wood, no paint. It is like stepping back in time. Thanks for sharing.

You had some of these, too?! I do wish the desk part was bigger but I sttil think they are good for small projects and writing at.
