Crafting On

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two, post it on your blog, on Instagram #craftingon and/or Flickr and then share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

Thank goodness for knitting, that is all I have to say. Our belongings were delivered out of storage last week - YAY! However, to make a long story short, our landlord said he would remove all of Ms. Thelma's furniture and things but then after our belongings were already on their way to us he changed his mind. The house was already a cluttered mess from all of her things and now we have our things on top of that. It hasn't been easy. I wake up with a tight feeling in my chest as anxiety takes over. Clutter is my kryptonite, friends. I started this birthday present knit for Baby F to help calm my nerves. Now I just need to make time to work on it.

In less stressful news, have you guys comes across these Secret of the Hidden Scrolls books? They are our latest family read aloud and we all love them. Book five was just released an we can't wait to dive in!
What are you working on? Happy creating!

I love the wooden angel that is in your photo. I don't understand why you have to keep someone else's furniture and items. I would politely tell him that they must go

Looks like it will be a wonderful fox and glad you can find some peace in your knitting

I wonder if your landlord would be open to it going into storage if you were willing to pack it up? Lots of extra work for you, but at least you might be able to get it out of the house?

I wish! I responded more below.
where did that lovely angel come from? I collect angels as ornaments around the house and would love to find one this year just like that one, if you can let me know please?

Yes! It is the small angel by Buntespecht from thepuppenstube.com
i looked that link up and thought it looked familiar, would you believe that i have visited that shop when i came across it in Germany a few years ago. Then i found the one i had previously bought from them! How funny that i forgot that i had one with the other xmas decorations and any amazing looking tree as well. Thanks for the reminder. xx
Beautiful knitting in progress! Thank you for the info about the book. Merry Christmas!!

Yikes. Sorry to hear about that. Is the house big enough to respectfully move her belongings to one space whilst you resolve the issue?

We were able to upstairs but not the downstairs. I posted more in the comment below :)
I forgot I haven't mentioned it here, only over on Instagram but this house came "furnished". By furnished they meant all the belongings of a dear sweet woman who lived through the depression so every corner of the house is crammed with furniture from decades ago (well past its usefulness) as well as decorations and kitchen things. All not really usable. It was helpful while we didn't have our belongings but we couldn't afford to pay the storage fees any longer so we had to have our things delivered. Kevin was able to move all of the upstairs belongings into one of the bedrooms floor to ceiling tetris style (obviously we can no longer use that room now and have it locked) so the upstairs isn't too bad but there is nowhere to put all the things downstairs. Our landlord understood our predicament over storage fees and said he would move it out but then realized how much was here and how expensive it would be to store so he changed his mind. He pointed out the belongings are in the contract, which is true. We understand but it is frustrating.
