Crafting On

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two, post it on your blog, on Instagram #craftingon and/or Flickr and then share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

That is one chubby deer don't you think? He,he. Hopefully once I knit the sleeves and block the sweater he'll slim down a bit. I still think he is pretty cute, though. I have to somehow finish this sweater, a gift for K and one last gift for Baby F before Saturday (the girls are in the choir at church pretty much all day Sunday, even the midnight Mass so no time to craft that day). Wish me luck! I hope you are all doing better with your timing than I am.

crafting on (reusable wrapping "paper") Right now I am finishing up sewing some reusable wrapping "paper" inspired by my friend Tricia from many years ago. I have been meaning to do this for a long time and this year I finally had a real excuse to get started. Since all of our Christmas items are in storage (sigh), we have no stockings to hang. I thought instead of making stockings for just one Christmas I would instead make four reusable wrapping paper bags. We'll use them as the children's stockings for this year and then for presents each Christmas thereafter. Simpkin, on the other hand, is trying to claim them year round as a comfortable bed.

My Yearly Attempt

the yearly try to get them to look at the camera at the same time...
Oy vey, it looks like I am going to be spending my evening trying to find a decent photo for our Christmas cards - as you can see my yearly attempt to capture them all looking at the camera at the same time didn't go as planned. Eh, who am I kidding it is pretty impossible! Thankfully candids work pretty nicely. Wish me luck. I am going to need it.

I have a new rhythm post in the works. I just have to find a solid chunk of time to be able to type all my thoughts up without interruptions. I might need some luck on that one, too!

p.s. - Think anyone would notice if we just reused last year's photo?

Not the best photo due to the endless lack of sun but it should suffice...or so I hope. 🙈  This is Baby F's reindeer sweater. I started it back in October (I believe) but it got pushed aside for other projects. Now I am realizing I should finish it up before he outgrows it. I am doing the reindeer in duplicate stitch because I didn't know how many rows I would have on this sweater until it was finished (it is a different pattern than what the original sweater pattern came with). Of course I am kicking myself now for choosing to do it this way as I think it will take quite a long time. Maybe it will just have to be his birthday sweater next month (let's not talk about my baby turning 2. 😭 )
