Crafting On

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two, post it on your blog, on Instagram #craftingon and/or Flickr and then share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

In a tribute of sorts to Yarn Along and sweet Ginny for sending you my way I thought I would share what I am currently knitting and reading.

First the knitting - I am back to work on Baby F's Ola's shorts after a mini hiatus from them. The pattern was translated and some of the translation didn't quite come through. I contacted the designer with no response. I threw my project in the corner to gather dust but then thankfully another raveler reached out to me and saved me. Now I am happily knitting away.

As it may be clear from what I am currently reading, I am determined to get my life in order.  just can't handle the way things are any longer. Sure they are magnified at the moment in this temporary house but either way I need to make some changes fast. I picked up Frugal Families  and Organizing from the Inside Out from the library with high hopes in getting organized for the first time in my life (not exaggerating, just ask Kevin) as well as find a way to live off our much more modest income in a much more expensive area. Here's hoping they help me out! Any other books suggestion in these categories?

What are you working on? Happy creating!

I am sure you will fly through the rest of the shorts now after that hiccup. I really must get myself organised as well , but that cuts into knitting time!

ack I know! why must things cut into knitting time?
I was really helped by a couple of books: The Money-Saving Mom, and Miserly Moms. (In the area of frugality). Maybe you can find them at the library?

thank you! Miserly Moms is by the same author. I will look!
I am sure the shorts will be a nice addition to the wardrobe. Good luck on getting organized!

I am so jealous of those amazing knits for your little guy. We were pregnant together and as much as I would *love* to dress my baby so adorably, my knitting skills are lacking in a serious way. I oogle your stuff though. Oh my word, are they ever precious. And such a beautiful boy that fits inside! ;-)

Oh thank you. You are so sweet! How old is your baby?
She'll be two on Dec 22!
Organization will come with time. I love the Tightwad Gazette books. They are slightly out dated but fantastic. Our library always has them. Best of luck. Most times God puts us in tricky situations to teach us something, the hard part is figuring out what we are supposed to learn. I will keep you in my prayers.
