Absent

sleep sleep sleep sleep Sorry, I just can't get enough of sleeping baby photos! V- day Linzer cookies Three out of my four children are under the weather as of right now, including my sweet baby. He is finally sleeping and I am about to go join him. I know I have been absent in this space a lot more than usual lately. I was hoping to get back to a better rhythm with blogging starting tonight but I might just have to push it off a bit longer. I am missing my routine. I have been pretty active over on Instagram, though. I admit I post there pretty regularly since there is more interaction. Blogging has become a bit lonely. Does anyone read blogs anymore? I still do, but I know I am not one to go with the crowd.

I do! And I truely prefer blogs to Instagram for one reason: Blogs just feel more thoughtful and more personal to me because bloggers tend to give more time and thought to try to express themselves. That's my personal feeling and I know and understand that other people might see this differently. I have to admit that I especially like the mix of both Insta and Blog- I love to see glimpses of the bloggers life on Insta during the "gaps" between his/her posts.
Me too I have been longing for more online interaction, but I don't own a cell phone (nor plan to do so) and therefor I have to make do with my blog. I started answering my comments and no I feel much better ;-) This way I can respond to questions and express my gratitude for sweet reactions (which is so important to me!) I will never be able to react on every single comment (though I have only a small mamablog) but I truely try to do- and I got even the impression that there are more readers who comment now, maybe because they see that I am really reading what they write and that I appreciate them taking the time and effort to do so.
I have also learned that I feel somehow lonely on blogs when I never get a reaction on my comments. It's so unpersonal then and I feel kind of ... well... unseen and unimportant then and not only hesitate to comment but loose my joy in reading after some time. But this too is my personal experience and nothing I'd say is a general rule or so. And of course I really, really understand and accept every bloggers choice to focus "only" on writing. I see that this alone takes so much time and enery and I am grateful for everyone who does this for us readers to enjoy and take inspiration.
Be blessed Nicole! I love your blog! I would miss it if you'd close it...

I Do! I've not made it to instagram yet but perhaps I should. I love reading blogs as they are like a letter to me. Plus Tou have a wonderful record of your lives to look back on. It must be a lots of work though!
I hope all your moving plans are progressing well and you managed to move that Easter date?
Much love from Cornwall, England.

I also do. I just rarely comment since I have to leave the feed I'm reading from and attempt to make sense. Question, is Baby F sleeping on a sheep skin? Hope everyone gets better sooner rather than later. Also those tarts look fabulous

I do. It gives me some relaxing me time when I do. You concentrate on what you need to at the moment. Blogging will be here when you can.

I'm a sporadic blog reader - every-so-often I play catch up! I've followed your blog for so long now, I would miss it if it went. X

I'm a daily blog reader. I'll check my favorite blogs (including yours) via bloglovin every day and if there's something interesting, I'll go over to check it out.

I read blogs! I think instagram certainly doesn't give enough detail or substance. I hope you all are well again soon!

Yes, I ONLY read blogs! No Facebook, no Instagram, no Twitter. Please don't stop blogging! You and a handful of other bloggin' mamas I follow are a true lifeline. I'm sorry I don't often comment. Too exhausted. :) Thank you so much for all you do!

I love instagram but I also love reading blogs. Blogs are more thoughtful and give more details/insights while Instagram is a small glimps into someones life. For those blogs that I follow, I love the mix between the both.

I love reading blogs and I love your blog! I do follow Instagram, too, but I prefer blogs.

I, too, am a blog reader with no smart phone, no Instagram, no fb, gosh--only recently did I get caller ID on my landline! I adore your honesty, your vulnerability, your astounding talents, your dear family, your faith. And I understand your weariness, when it hits. I'd be sad to see you go...

I love this blog and have been reading it for years, it's the first thing I check every morning, even before the news, haha! I would love to hear more about how homeschooling is going..

I still read blogs! Keep it up please! I just started documenting my homeschooling/homemaking blog so I love to see and hear how other's are doing. It gives me inspiration to know I'm not alone on this homeschool/homemaker path. :)

Blogs are my favourite. I've a few (including yours) that i check out several times a week. Love to read what's happening and your thoughts on this and that, and of course the knitting. Loads of people swapping blogs for instagram so it feels a bit lonely on the blog side nowadays, but i still really value it. I'm not on IG.

I read blogs! Not loads of them as I am time poor, but I certainly love visiting yours and seeing what you are up to. Even if you just post once or twice a week as you have been doing, that's fine - you have four children and are home schooling! And you can instagram all the inbetween bits :-) You post beautiful photos (I imagine on instagram too), but as the others say a blog is so much more personal; hearing your thoughts and reflections about your family life and life in general and seeing all your wonderful makings and ideas. I have been secretly dropping in to see what you are up to for many years now - since my children (and yours!) were small and blogs like yours, and a few others I regularly visit, have been a life line to me when I was feeling unsure and without like minded friends. I only started commenting recently as I now also have a blog and I can really see what you mean about it feeling lonely when you don't get any feedback, so I try to comment on blogs I like now too as much as I can. I know there are a lots of folks out there who really appreciate getting a glimpse of your life and getting to know you :-) so keep it up now and then and don't feel pressure to do more than you can. Some blogs do feel very impersonal, but I feel your blog has a little community all around it who are wishing you well and want to stay in touch :-)

Yes, Nicole, please don't stop blogging. You are one of my few blogs I will read. You and Small Things by Ginny. I love your photos of your children, your hand knitted items, and your crafts and adventures. What I've done recently is removed the blogs off my favorites if they post information on politics. I don't want to hear anyone's views on the subject. Ha! My husband said I like to bury my head in the sand. So be it! Nicole, please keep up your blog! Thank you. Gwen in Iowa.

I read blogs! I read your blog always. I love your family and I feel that every time I visit here I am in
a sense visiting your home and it is always warm and comforting and welcoming. I would miss your blog. I love instagram, but
that is what it feels like 'instant'. I know you have a large family and are quite busy, but I hope you can squeeze in some time
and continue to share your family and knitting and well, your home with the rest of us out here!
I am praying for you and your move and your husbands future employment. I hardly ever comment, but I definitely always
visit and I love your KCCO days. Thank you for opening the doors of your home here and I hope they don't close! Gods blessings!

I am a blog reader but rarely comment. I know there are probably a lot of people like me. I will try to do better about commenting. I love that baby foot and the blanket is gorgeous! Hope you all are feeling better soon!

Oh, I am a blog reader still....any yours continues to be a very favorite! I've been reading your words for many years now, and would surely miss them if you stopped...know that you are part of what makes each of my days happy, in some way!

I love reading blogs and I love me some Insta, but Instagram just cannot take the place of a well written blog. I know how you feel though (especially since my blog is like talking to myself, lol!) and I think those feelings are quite keen around this time of year. Almost all the blogs I read really slow down mid January- March. There's just not much going on for most of us, we're in the doldrums of winter, people are sick, etc. Don't beat yourself up too much about being out of your rhythm; once you find it again I'm certain we'll all be here waiting for you :-)

I still read a few blogs, including yours! I really enjoy your blog. :) Your readers are still here, even if they are quiet.

I read your blog daily and started reading your archived writings also. It has been inspiring to me to continue doing the things that I need to do, like purge plastic from my home and get back to the basics, even though my children are grown.

I hope you feel better. Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey in some hot water usually fixes me right up. Take care of yourself. Hope to hear from you soon.

I read every post of you! I like your writing and I like your way of living! My son is some weeks older than your shark-son and he will come to a waldorf school in the summer.....
