Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

Well, here is a photograph from the past! This was taken back in Oregon when Little L was still a baby. Oh how the time really does fly! I swear it is related to crafting, though. Since I can't actually make anything with my hands right now, I am crafting in my mind. I want to add a cradle veil to this Moses basket stand for the new baby. You can see pictures of what I mean here and here. How can I go about doing this? Is it even possible? I am thinking I would need to attach it to the stand itself because we move it around the house quite a bit (so hanging silk from the ceiling isn't an option). But honestly, I have no clue what I am doing here so any help would be greatly appreciated!

What are you working on?! Happy creating!

p.s. - I feel I should put it out there just in case anyone worries about the baby and possible SIDS - we use this when baby is awake and I am unable to wear him/her at the moment. Also nice for siblings to play with baby while in this without fear of smothering (they love one another so!).

That is so beautiful and cosy, even before a veil is added.
i love moses baskets. You could brace against the uprights at the head end and create a hoop that you could clothes peg a silk too?
you could use a light fiberglass or thin pv pipe covered with a cotton slip to create the hoop.
My pediatrician told me a couple of years ago that a new study found that SIDS is nearly 100% preventable with one simple tool: a fan. I guess air circulation prevents this tragedy from occurring. Fascinating. So go find a good ceiling fan! Cute veil idea! Good luck!
This basket reminds me of when we had our last of 5 children.
We suspended it with rope from the ceiling towards the base of our bed, when bub stirred I would lift my foot
up and gently push the basket.
This was a sleep changer as the bed was full of other children as well as parents and number 5 has always been
the best sleeper, even now when he is 7, sit him on your lap in a rocking chair and in 15 minutes he is asleep : )

Enjoy the planning : )
What if you took a dowel or a willow rod and slowly bent them into an arch shape and secured it to the frame. Then you could use the wood arch as a support for a large embroidery hoop and put your veil around the hoop? Just thinking out loud there. It might not make sense outside of my head. I hope you figure something out. I am excited for you, congrats!

Taking a dowel to the bathroom and cranking up the shower until it's all steamy and letting the wood take in the steam for a few minutes will help it bend easier.
Just wanted you to know that someone is thinking of you and your morning sickness(all day sickness) problems. It's all for that beautiful present at the end. Keep the faith. If nothing else, at least this terrible feeling is proof that your pregnancy is healthy and you and your baby are strong.
