Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

I started this dress for K back in April when I was working on C's birthday dress and somehow or other it was forgotten about.  I found it buried on my desk and thought it best to finish it up. All it needs is some buttons, buttonholes and a pocket or two. K will flip over it, I am sure. I am actually beginning to wonder (and dread) when she will no longer be so thrilled over her Mama sewing for her.

What are you working on?! Happy creating!

This bee print looks lovely, I love the blue-green-yellow combination.
My mom used to sew me clothes when I was a kid and I still keep most of it. I never grew out of wanting her to make me homemade clothes but I'll admit that around the age of 11, I wanted to be involved in picking the patterns, the fabrics and the fitting. Mom went along with most of it and continued to make me clothes every once in a while until I was in my thirties. The whole progress also taught me to sew a bit and I made some simple clothes for myself as a teenager (I should start doing that again!). So maybe you don't have to worry about K not wanting mama-made clothes ;)

Oh thank you so much for sharing that with me! Your sewing relationship with your mom really touched my heart!
My Grandma used to sew for me when I was little and I loved it. She passed away when I was only 8 or 9 though so I didn't get to truly appreciate it until it was gone. I wish my mom saved the costumes and outfits she made me.
My big girlie would flip over that fabric! I am finally happy to be able to add a link after months and months of no creating (which feels a little lie dying inside...)

My daughter just turned 16 and requested I sew for her for her birthday. She wanted a medieval dress and cloak. I also just finished a purse for her. I am hopeful that we will never hit a time when she doesn't want me to sew for her. My 6 year old loves growing into the things her big sister has outgrown and, of course, getting newly sewn items as well.

You are giving me hope!!
I love that fabric Nicole! I can't wait to see the finished dress...
that is adorable print! I love that you rediscovered a forgotten project :)
I love that fabric I just noticed that you published the name when answering a comment. I will definitely check it out. Cool fabric and I love the bee theme...I a bit obsessed with them. Good to know that it's linen...another current obsession.
Thanks again for hosting.

How fun to rediscover a project, and in such pretty fabric, too!
Is that a Geranium? I am about to make another one for Julia. She had one last year and loved it...and then outgrew it. I was so happy when the pattern was released in larger sizes so I could make another! xo
