Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

Spring knitting and dreaming of spring sewing.

We replaced C's smaller sized klean kanteen a couple of years ago in favor of the 27oz size. I have been meaning to make her a larger size carrier for it for about the same amount of time. This year I am finally making it happen! Her last carrier was given to her by the root children so I couldn't just give her one from me, this one would have to be a gift from them as well. So this spring it will be waiting outside for her. Little L will also be getting an upgrade from his 12oz to an 18oz klean kanteen and his very first carrier to go with it. I already finished knitting his and just need to felt it.

The weather teased us last week with sun and 60 degree temperatures. That brought about a sewing itch. Of course when I dug out my warm weather sewing patterns today, the weather greeted me with gray clouds and rain. That's okay. This is only the second time it has rained since we moved here and I miss our Oregon rainy days.

What are you working on?! Happy creating!

I love your bottle carriers and am interested in making 6 now and one more when baby becomes a toddler for my grandchildren. I went to Ravelry and read up on the yarn recommended. I was wondering if you have used Cascade 220 since I have so much left over yarn in many colors of it? After I buy the bottles this will be a spendy project, so if another yarn would work it would be great. Can you tell me about this yarn since the yarn store that I usually go to does not carry it? Thank you so much. Stacie

Hi Stacie! I am honestly unsure about using the cascade yarn for this project. I know cascade does felt but Malabrigo is a single-ply yarn and felts like crazy (even when you don't want it to!)But I checked on ravelry and it looks like there are some people that used the cascade for the project so If you have lots of cascade scraps around I would say go for it!
Great colours for a bottle carrier.
I have long wanted to knit up a few of those water bottle carriers. So cute!
Love those colours togethe!
It will be a pretty bottle carrier :)
And I love the little sweater in the previous post - so adorable!
Thanks for hosting a link up. I noticed most of what is shared looks like knitting or crochet, hope its ok to have posted a garment? Thanks again!

Oh yes!! I shared sewing last week and there is much more to come now that it is warming up outside! Share whatever craft you desire :)
So much beauty and cuteness! I'll have to peek more tonight when the wee ones are in bed!
Thanks for hosting!
It's amazing how the weather can affect our desire to either knit or sew. I found over the last couple of weeks that my stitching fingers are itching, first of all repairing a ripped seam or loose button, then hand stitching simple envelope cushion covers, now I have plans for all sorts of wonderful things. But in the mean time I've just started a tiny sample, the first section of a sock yarn blanket that I think will be a long long project. I love forward to seeing more of your projects...that little sewing pattern looks cute.
Thank you for hosting.

Hi Nicole- just stumbled upon your blog tonight and decided to take a look around. What a beautiful blog you have. I'm just getting back into knitting after too many years and will enjoy seeing what you are creating. I look forward to learning a thing or two. Your photos are gorgeous, as are your children. Mine are all grown and now I enjoy their children. Life is good. Deb (Ontario, Canada)
