Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

KCCO

Your eyes do not deceive you - that's snow! I had to run outside in the freezing cold, in my pjs no less, to snap a picture of yarn in snow. Hey, I've got to get my kicks somewhere, right? Ahem. Perhaps King Winter listened to our cries after reading Ollie's Ski Trip about one hundred times over these past few days.

That work in progress is from the yarn I showed you in yesterday's post. It's for one part of Little L's birthday present. There is more yarn to come for the rest of it. The yarn above is a customized version of the charcoal colorway. After I showed Jackie (owner of Luna Grey) what I had in mind we both agreed that the yarn needed to be a bit more solid with subtle variations due to some color work in the yoke. This is knitting up perfectly. It feels like it is taking forever on size 6 needles, though.

As I was browsing my Ravelry project page I noticed that I tend to go through favorite color phases. Apparently right now my color of choice is grey. I wonder what color I will move on to next?

Don't forget you can win a skein of your own Luna Grey yarn by going here. The giveaway ends Wednesday the 16th so hurry!

What are you working on? Happy creating!

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress (or finished works) please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on. Don't forget that there is now a KCCO Flickr group for you to share your crafting photos at anytime.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the KCCO posts you may visit. I know from my own experience just how much your comments really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

what a sweet little sweater! I love grey too
I think I definitely go through color phases. Right now it is teal, but my family persuaded me to choose a different color recently. Aren't they helpful!
I love the way this is knitting up, Nicole. You are cruising right along on! The broken rib is a good choice. I think it looks more "current" than a plain old rib stitch. ---Jackie
Grey is under rated, I am enjoying seeing you use it. I of course love blue and green, but I also love them with grey. I don't know if you are a Sarah, Plain and Tall fan or not, but I love in Winter's End where Jacob goes in to buy Sarah some wool and the store owner asks him what colors Sarah would like and he replys "blue, gray, green... the colors of the sea" Love that!

Oh I love that. I think I could love those colors, too :)
I love grey too, and that yarn looks divine! (I shall pop over and enter the giveaway, for sure!). Love your knitted object in snow shot... it always feels like such a waste when we have all this freezing cold weather for days on end and no snow to show for it! :) Happy knitting, my dear! <3

Exactly!! It gets below freezing here but no snow - what gives?!
I go through color phases too. Right now I think I am in the land of creams and charcoals. Lovely color you are using. Such a talented dyer.
Looks like it's coming on a treat :) I'm all into mustard and turquoise at the moment :)

:) Who knew growing up in NY that I would miss snow as much as I do!
Beautiful colour. And snow, how lovely. Ours has melted and it feels like spring, which is just wrong on so many levels.
Lovely color!

Thanks for hosting.
I think a lot of people are knitting with grey this season... It's a very winter appropriate selection.
Hooray! I have been meaning to take part in this link up for months, but haven't gotten my crafty act together before now :-)

Thank you so much for hosting and for the inspiration you provide here on your blog. Best wishes, Kara
I have some gray in just that shade sitting in my yarn stash... I am thinking faux knight chainmail for my son...
