Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

There is a little bit of this and a little bit of that going on in our home right now. K is needle felting some ornaments (using the same technique we have used in the past) and still knitting away hoping to finish her blanket in time for Christmas.

I finished both of the girls' Christmas Phoebes and their sweaters so I am trying to work on a couple of things for Little L now. We have a family tradition of three gifts per child. These three gifts represent the three gifts given by the wise men. I like our little tradition as it also helps to keep our focus on the day itself and not the gifts.

That scrumptious yarn you see above is destined to be knit into a Sea Shepherd sweater. The colorway is sea grass. I wish you could see it in person, I wasn't able to capture it's subtle variations. I'll try harder in the next photo I take of it.

There is a little sewing project in the works, too. I have been dreaming about this project ever since I bought that charming fabric pictured above last summer. I hope it comes out as delightful as the image of it in my head is.

What are you working on?

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress (or finished works) please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on. Don't forget that there is now a KCCO Flickr group for you to share your crafting photos at anytime.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the KCCO posts you may visit. I know from my own experience just how much your comments really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

That felted star is so cute :)
We, too, are planning the let the littles have a go at needle felting some ornaments! Thank you for sharing your inspiration xo
Beautiful yarn and I love the fabric too! I'm in the throes of gift-making as well. So much to do! (Even though I start in the summer.) I just posted a link to a Little Red Riding Hood playset I recently finished. :)
I love that star! What a great technique with the cookie cutter. May have to give that a try!
We are making needle felted ornaments this week, too! But we're making balls of wool and needle felting designs on them. I will have to show my girls your cookie-cutter technique -my kids would really like it.

Sounds like fun! The cookie cutter work on the balls, too (if small enough).
Hi Nicole, I love needle felting!! I make ornaments for grandchildren almost every year. This year I am also making felt ornaments using the cookie cutter technique. So much fun and creativity even for adults- keeps us calm!!
The little star is so pretty . My daughter is really into needle felting as well :)

I've added a traductor to my website, so you english ladies can understand now !
Everything looks lovely!
That fabric is just beautiful! Can't wait to see what you make with it. And I love your daughter's star. So lovely, I'll have to get my son working on some of those too. I'm having an ornament craft along to inspire me to caraft a beautiful handmade tree by Christmas. Needle felted stars would be a lovely addition.
I love the needle felting in a cookie cutter - brilliant! I have that same fabric, so I'm very eager to see what you'll make of it!

This week I finished up a cute vest for my two year old boy.
Thank you for the link-up Nicole. I really, truly love your idea of three gifts, just like the three wise men. I wish I had thought of that years ago. Best, Rachel
I think I would like to make some needle felted ornaments with the kiddos. They exchange with their cousins, so these would be perfect.
Your photographs make me wish i was home crafting now. You have such wonderful projects in the works.
I always have multiply things going on. Housework? Who needs to do that until it is desperate? ;) Love that yarn, it will be a lovely sweater!
i love that yarn and the fabric!! i love the three gifts idea as well--and i loved your thanksgiving tree--so thoughtful!
I love that yarn! First time joining in, too.

I think we're from the same part of Virginia - is that Tiffany from the Waldorf shop in Williamsburg? It's been years since I lived there.
