Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

Talk about crash and burn! I spent the past week staying up until about 2 am each night knitting and/or sewing, so come Easter Sunday I was exhausted. Hence no blog post that night. It's all worth it in the end when I hear their excited squeals as they find their new clothing on their beds. I did somehow manage to finish up the girls dresses in time and I have pics along with commentary to share with you in a bit. Thank goodness for a couple of beautiful days here to rejuvenate me, for the most part. I am still playing catch up on sleep here and there but there is no rest for the weary as C's birthday is only a week away!!

As you can see my knitting basket is quite full, and so is my life - full, and I wouldn't want it any other way. It's a good thing I don't have a sewing basket, I suppose. It would be just as stuffed as my knitting one. I still haven't decided on C's birthday dress pattern but I do have the fabric picked out from my stash at least. That's one of the hardest decisions for me.

I feel that I have so much more to share and say, and as if I have been absent here. I know it's best not to try and write/type when I am tired though. Kevin pointed out to me the other day how I use the same words over and over again when I am too sleepy to articulate. Oops! Sorry to make all of you struggle through reading those late night posts (for months now). I'll (try to) avoid that for this post. Wait, I think I may have already done it...

What are you working on? Happy creating!

p.s - Have you seen the book Little House in the Suburbs: Backyard farming and home skills for self-sufficient living? I think I may need it. Surprisingly our library doesn't have it. Any of you read it? What did you think of it?

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on. Don't forget that there is now a KCCO Flickr group for you to share your crafting photos at anytime.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the KCCO posts you may visit. I know they really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

I love how spring-like your knitting basket looks!

Good job on getting the Easter knitting finished, too :)
Oooh, it looks like you are knitting lots of lovely things! I can't wait to see the easter clothes!
I haven't read that book yet... But it looks like one we need to get for our home library! Thanks for pointing it out! I'm going to check and see if our local library has it today so I can look it over!

I am linking up for the second week in a row... wasn't sure I would make it this week. Thing have been a little bit nuts around here! Thanks again for hosting Nicole! I love popping over and seeing what craftiness you are up to! Gives me something to aspire to!

Thank you! I am so glad you could link up again :)
Your knitting basket is full of bright cheerful colours. Love it.
That basket of yummy Spring-ness just makes me want to jump right in! Gorgeous!
I love the yellows and greens in your basket, such happy spring colors! Looking forward to seeing the dresses that you made the girls :) I think we are probably all guilty of those late night posts where some things might be a little off, but being moms we understand all too well. ;)
Hope you have a wonderful day!
I bet they looked so cute! Can't wait to see pics. I wouldn't worry about your late night posts. No mommy blogging would get done if not for late night posts!. LOL!
Oh, just the title of that book makes me want i! :) We're on the same page, Ni. I listed off all of my ufo's this week... it's quite a sight to see. High time to face the facts-- I have more ambition than I have hours in my day!
Hi Nicole, I own the book and it's got some good tips, but basically it's a very basic introduction into back yard gardening/farming. I would like to find a book that is a little more detail with the day-to-day how tos for me.

Also, thanks for inspiring me to get back into my sewing/knitting!

be well!

Thank you for letting me know!
I have the book too and like it a lot. I grew up (well several years) on a farm, but my husband did not and this book is very nice for us as we are getting started on our own little "homestead".

What a fun adventure to be starting.
The colors you're knitting with are very pretty.
I'm currently working on two mei tai; one for a friend expecting her 4th child, one for us large enough for Papa (6'5") to wear! I'm embroidering Gaïa on the front panel so it's taking a lot of my time, but it's a great craft to do in the play room.
Very fresh looking basket. And a lovely book that you mention, you got my interest there!
Can't wait to see the pictures, hope you do get your sleep caught up.
love the yellow in the basket!
OK, my second comment on this post. But I happened across this little ezine (free) this morning from a homesteading blog that I read on occasion. Thought you might enjoy looking it over considering your posting about the other homesteading book yesterday. It is called 'The Homestead Community Post'.
Here is the link: http://www.homesteaddryingracks.com/uploads/1/0/6...

I haven't read through much of it yet, but it looks interesting. Just thought you (or some of your readers) might be interested. (I hope it was ok to post a link to something here... if it's not please let me know. I don't want to post something I'm not supposed to! If it's not you can always hit delete right? ;-)
Blessings,
Rachel

Of course it's ok! Thank you for sharing. I will check it ou!
Things go in fits and spurts with me. Some days I'm getting lots done and others it seems like I've got too many balls in the air. Somehow it all works out though! Love the spring colours in your knitting basket!
Thank you so much for the ispiration to keep posting current works, sometimes sharing is the perfect amount of motivation :)
I love the basket you have for storing knitting projects, so lovely! The colors you have chosen for your projects are so nice and cheery. I hope you get caught up on sleep - it's hard to run on little sleep with just one baby, I can't imagine with three! At least your are losing sleep creating beautiful things :)
Lovely colors! Have a nice day!
Oops! A day late! Seems to be the way my life is going right now!
Can't wait to look around, I love seeing everyone's crafts!
xoxo
