Handmade by Others

I wanted to bring our Handmade Holidays to a close with our beautiful gifts handmade by others. All of these truly are treasures as are the people who made them. I have such a love for all things handmade; along with being able to know who exactly made the product, and seeing the incredible workmanship (I swear you can see and feel the love put into every single thing made), you get to develop new friendships by speaking with the artisan directly, and in some cases help support friends you already have.

Buntspechte Mama bear from The Puppenstube (the baby bear was being held hostage by C in a doll sling at the time of this photo). The gnome was a gift to K last year, made by Lizz and her inspiring family at Zooloonaturals.

A surprise present for ME (Sorry, I get overexcited, as I am sure a lot of you know firsthand, Mama always puts everyone else first so things for me are few and far between)!! A hand knit shawl from my wonderful friend Christine at The Puppenstube. I became so giddy upon opening this. I have wanted a shawl for so long, Christine's work is amazing and to top it off it's PINK! *insert high pitched girly squeal here* Christine's work can also be found at her new Etsy shop, check it out!!

C's new baby doll (posing with C baby) made by another kind and gifted friend Shelley Caskey of waldorfmama. She made the doll out of my favorite yarn which just happens to match the doll hat she made for C baby last Spring and...

this new pilot cap for C! C is very into her things being 'matchy-matchy' so as you can imagine she loves these. I know it seems like the girls both have a never ending supply of hats, but it is so important to me that their heads are always covered when outdoors (and for C when it's cold indoors) so I like to have a few options for them. Plus there is always the cases of misplaced hats, or a hat being washed, etc.

Well, that's it! I hope I didn't bore you all too much with our first real family celebration of Christmas. I am leaving you with a photo of C from last week. She fell asleep under our tree on one of the dog's beds. I couldn't resist snapping this, who knew a dog bed could be such a restful spot?!

Wishing you all a peaceful weekend!

Such beautiful gifts. Thank you for sharing also that shawl. I just barely starting knitting one for myself as I have always wanted one as well.
Our family also purchased a few choice gifts handmade by others that I shared on my blog the other day.
Many warm wishes!
