Crafting On

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project guoing at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two, post it on your blog, on Instagram #craftingon and/or Flickr and then share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

Hey guys! So something is up with our country WiFi. It hasn't been working well for the past couple of days (which explains why there was no post yesterday and why I have been absent on Instagram.) We are hoping to figure it out soon. Somehow I was able to get it to work to upload a photo via blogger for this post though.

I am still working on knitted play food for Baby F. I am now on to a veggie dog in a bun topped with mustard. 馃憣 Not exactly related but since it is pictured I thought I should mention that my children and I have been staring at every image we have of Luna moths (the drawing above from this book is a personal favorite). We have been wanting to see one ever since we learned about them many years ago. They are supposed to be found where we are currently but so far no luck. Anyone know where they tend to be? In the forests? In the fields?

What are you working on? Happy creating!

Love that book! I live in Maryland, I only see them every once in a while. The first one I remember seeing was when my oldest was about 4 (he turned 21 this past Sunday) and spotted it on the kitchen window screen. At that time, we lived in a house in the woods in a neighborhood just outside of town. The Very Quiet Cricket was one of his favorite books that we read over and over, he knew exactly what it was when he spotted it and he pointed it out to me. The most recent one I saw was last year while chaperoning my high school kid's all night after Prom party. The Luna Moth landed on my shirt while I was standing outside, seemed to come from no where. The high school is about 1/2 mile from our old neighborhood, so I am going to guess they live in the woods. That said, I live way out in the country on the marshy side of a river and drive through a wooded area to get to my home. I have not seen a Luna Moth at my current home.

Happy belated birthday to your oldest!! :) I hope they do live in the woods since we are surrounded by them.
We have seen them on the wall of our garage when we forget to the turn the light off at night. We see LOTS of beautiful moths as a matter of fact.

Oh nice! We have a light outside our house that stays on all night and get a lot of bats but not many moths.
