I Don't Do It All

favorite A favorite photograph of mine taken in May (so, no you are not crazy for thinking Baby F looks smaller!)

Hey everyone! Has the thought ever crossed your mind that I seem to accomplish a lot? Well, I promise I don't! Want proof, such as my loathe of carpets and *gasp* my feelings on homeschooling? While I am at it, have I ever mentioned how creating keeps me sane?! Come join me over at my friend Bethany's blog Baking Humble Pie. I had the privilege of doing a guest post for her "I Don't Do It All" series. While you are over there check out the other posts in the series, too. I have so enjoyed reading each one of them.

Now off on some Oregon Trail adventures we go! Happy weekending, friends!

Well done for writing that. It's so true: in blogs we show the corners of the house that are in order or the things that work for us rather than the chaos and mess and bickering children (!) that are behind the scenes. It makes the blog a happy place to go to where we can rejoice in our small successes, those golden moments and for me, I find it makes me focus on what I find beautiful, my aspirations and thing that fill me with joy rather than what drags me down. But it is important to be honest as well and the reality is we can't do it all! I think it is great that you are authentic and speak about your feelings. It makes your blog real and your writing is from the heart. I have secretly visited your cosy space for many years :-) Thank you for sharing. We are just doing what we can. And that has to be enough. As Zena says we don't have the extended family of days gone by to share the work with. I would rather spend time with my children than have a tidy/clean house or spend a quiet evening knitting than clearing up the debris of the day til late. Something has to give. I so agree with you about taking photos every day. It makes you look at things so differently, things that once seemed mundane take on a beauty and magic and it makes you see nature and your everyday with new eyes. Good advice indeed! I only started sharing in May and I never really took that many photos before that, except of the children, and I have to say it is one of my favourite things about writing my blog. :-)
Enjoyed reading this post. It is amazing the things that I don't get done in a day compared to the things I do. I am by no means a lazy soul and I do for everyone around me but myself. I better finish dinner and then get to cleaning.
Thanks for your honesty Nicole. I've been reading your blog for years and years and I'm still amazing by all the goodness you find in your life. I actually read your blog(among 2 others) in the morning with my cup of coffee before I start my day as a reminder to slow down and enjoy my kids and my life. It can get overwhelming to be a single working mom of 3 and I appreciate the reminders.
