Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

Well friends, it's just as I feared - Little L's fourth birthday sweater  fits C, not Little L. I knew it was looking a bit on the big side but I didn't realize just how big. It's actually rather serendipitous. Little L is in an "anything knitted is itchy" phase so he has no desire to wear sweaters. I don't think he will be the least bit upset that he doesn't have a birthday sweater this year (with his birthday only a week away there just isn't time for me to start another one). He will still receive a knitted whale shark from me, which is a million times better to this boy of mine anyway. I am still finishing the birthday sweater because if I don't finish it now, I will never get back to it. I know a year or two from now I will be so happy to have a sweater already made and stashed away for him.

What are you working on?! Happy creating!

I love the sweater! Too bad it's too big for L. But he'll probably be very happy with the shark too!
That sweater is just so pretty. Perhaps L will appreciate it by the time it fits him!
Love. Love. Love! The pattern of the sweater is so charming, and who wouldn't want a whale shark?!
Sooooo adorable - pure winter magic!
I wish I could knit like that!

Oh I posted about this exact same thing, same sweater, yesterday! It's such a cute design, though, and now four of my kids will get to eventually wear it. http://lifeofseven.typepad.com/my-blog/2015/02/tr...

oh my goodness. That is too funny!! Great minds think alike (and apparently share some of the same mishaps!).
Those trees are so pretty!

The sweater is looking GREAT!!
I love the trees on it. Great idea to finish and stash it away. What a gift that will be when the time comes.
That is so disappointing! But it's beautiful and you will enjoy seeing it on him next year.
Too big is better than too small! At least he will be able to wear it at some point. Beautiful work :)
I have been watching your progress on this sweater and I really think it looks better with that pop of green for the trees than the pattern samples did with the same color as the body of the sweater. It is a design I've had on my favorites list for a while.
It's a beautiful sweater and will be perfect for someone some time. Love the cat!
The sweater you are making is amazing! Too Big is actually much better as kids tend to grow like weeds and he'll get more wear from it.
Thank you for hosting the linky party :)

So sweet...the sweater and the kitty! This morning I found my kitty curled up on a wool sweater I left at the foot of my bed.
That is one gorgeous sweater and one day it will fit! so so so pretty!!
Happy birthday to Little L!!!

Lovely photo with the cat :)

Thanks for hosting!
You must knit really fast. I love the colors and pattern. I laughed at your cat sleeping on the sweater....cats always think everything is for them to lay on.

Cats really do live the good life, don't they?
