It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here now that we are in the last week of Advent.
The children have been spending most of December crafting but now their energy level went from maybe 30% to 110%! They want to make sure they get everything done, but they are just like me - with each thing they complete they add something else to the list to make.

There has been some dollhouse decorating, drawing, painting, cat naps under the tree, pageant rehearsal, and lots of sewing and knitting. We made some beeswax peppermint lip balm to gift again (using my favorite oils). C has been setting up her Nativity set that she received as a birthday gift this year, adding to it with each Sunday in Advent. Our family Nativity is becoming more full and beautiful and soon the Holy Family will appear. In addition to bringing out the Nativity figures slowly over Advent we also bring out a new figure each year. We started out with only the Holy family and each year bought another figure. I enjoy adding to it slowly and my children love trying to figure out if a new figure has been added and when. This year it was sheep during the third week of Advent! (Psst, Christine)

We also made cinnamon applesauce ornaments and cornstarch and baking soda ornaments (instead of salt dough) for the first time. We really liked making both and oh my does the house smell lovely from the cinnamon applesauce ornaments! I made Little L a shark love ornament, but really, I think I made it for myself.

Happy fourth Sunday of Advent!

Our cat loves to snuggle up under the tree as well. Your home and family look well prepared. I'm always inspired by the work you do. Merry Christmas to you and yours. I look forward to reading on about your family in the coming year. :)
What a beautiful tree skirt! Can I ask where it's from? Wishing a merry Yule to you and your family :)

I found it on Ebay last year. I wish I had more information than that :(
Lovely. The baker's twine looks so fun and festive on the cinnamon ornaments!
You have so much beauty in your home! I love those beeswax hangings.
What a lovely little door with miniature wreath! Did you make the little house the door is in?

Thanks! I didn't make it ( I wish I was crafty with wood) it is a Kinderkram dollhouse we bought many years ago.
So, this is kind of random but I have spent WAY too much time internet surfing looking for waldorf art prints (and those beautiful rounded frames) only to find nothing. It cracked me up to see that you posted many years ago asking about those same frames : ). So I was wondering if you have seen any places recently that sell them? Nova has a few, but I am looking more for festival ones (Three Kings, etc.). Even if I had to call and order from a school that would be fine. Thank you so much!

Do you mean the frames or the pictures? The frames came from Nova many years back (they no longer sell them :( ) Most of my pictures came from my friend Tiffeni and Spring Creek Store in the Portland Waldorf School. You can find their link in the sidebar. Yvonne would be able to help you with any particular ones you are looking for :) HTH!
I will check them out. Thank you so much for the weekly inspiration to live life with my kids!
Love the T-shirt and cat!

Wishing you and all your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a very blessed 2015!
Mmm pretty pictures!!! Christmas is such a cozy time!!!! I especially love the wooden door in the first picture--the tiny wreath : )
