Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

I am trying to keep my panicked self at ease by knitting up a birthday gift for a family friend. She loves our kitty Midnight, so K and I thought she needed a Midnight of her own. The two of us stayed up pretty late one night looking at cat patterns on ravelry until we decided  this one by the talented Linda Dawkins was perfect!  I found some leftover black yarn in my stash and was all set. Although, the black yarn isn't entirely accurate. We joke that our real Midnight kitty made up his own color "blown" (pronounced like brown but with an "l" ). He is black in most light but brown in direct sunlight. Something tells me that I wouldn't be able to find yarn in that colorway...

For the record - photographing black yarn is utterly impossible!

What are you working on? Happy creating!

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress (or finished works) please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on. Don't forget that there is now a KCCO Flickr group for you to share your crafting photos at anytime.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the KCCO posts you may visit. I know from my own experience just how much your comments really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

You are so right about the pesky black yarn in pictures. It has defeated me many many times. Keep calm my friend, you are Waldork ;)
oh my... that should read Waldorf and I just spit my morning tea through my nose

Ha,ha. Yes, yes so Waldork!!
Would you believe that I actually have some fiber that I spun into a yarn that appears black but on closer inspection in the light has a lot of brown? I thought it was the most amazing thing the first time I noticed it. (:

Oh wow! The perfect "blown"!!
I can't wait to see your finished kitty! I would like to make knitted animals for my little ones for Christmas this year!

Every time I see those stitch markers I admire them! Do you remember where you bought them?

They were on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/transaction/9901029?ref=fb2_... I love them but my only complaint is that a couple of my hens are headless now...guess that happens with glass eventually!
Lovely blog! Great stitchmarkers too!

super cute stitchmarker and yes, black yarn is crazy hard to photograph.
Black is hard to work with as well as photograph. I made a pair of socks for my daughter, her request. I should have used a plain pattern, it was impossible to see the lace design. I am sure that the kitty will be cute!
Happy to say hi, and join in the fun. cheers from New Zealand. Marie
