Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

Oh how I would love to be knitting right now! I have nothing but sewing, sewing and more sewing to do. I took a break to work on some beeswax projects with the girls along with some fun wool adventures to decorate our home. Little L helped us by throwing and hiding our wool felted balls faster than we could make them. Organized chaos, I tell ya! What are you working on?

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress (or finished works) please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on. Don't forget that there is now a KCCO Flickr group for you to share your crafting photos at anytime.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the KCCO posts you may visit. I know from my own experience just how much your comments really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

Ooh, you're making Ginny's beeswax nativity? The molds are finally back in stock, so e company just shipped one yesterday. Cannot wait to make some as gifts. How did yours turn out? Any tips?

Christmas crafting and decorating with a toddler is such a challenge! Stringing popcorn and cranberries for the tree was a total failure once George decided to "help" us. Ah, well, they're only little once !

I'm not sure if our Nativity are the same molds as Ginny's or not. I got them a couple of years back after buying beeswax ornaments made from them. They are really easy to make. K is actually in charge of it now. We make beeswax ornaments every year but our Nativity has held up over the years so they are pretty darn tough! This one is for a friend :)
p.s. thank you for commenting :) I was starting to think I said something wrong! :P
Where did you get your molds? Here in Portland? I couldn't find any locally, and had to order mine from a company online. Did you have to grease your mold first? Never done this before, only dipped candles, so it'll be a learning process. We got our beeswax at Bee Thinking in Ladd's Addition ( our friend, Matt, is the owner and carries local and also cert. organic French beeswax).

I hear you on the sewing. My dining room table has been covered in fabric for al,out two weeks. Just packed it all up this morning and said, "Enough!!" I need a sewing room so badly! Happy stitching. :)
I want to say I found them at Ruhl's but I could be mistaken. They are on Amazon though, too.
Are yours plastic? If so then you shouldn't need to grease them. They aren't really deep enough to need it. What we do is pour the was in and let it set without moving it at all until the mold looks cloudy. Then we put them in the freezer for a few minutes to make them pop right out. It can seem intimidating but really it's easy peasy :) Let me know if you have anyother questions. I haven't heard of that shop before. I will need to check them out. Thank you!

And yes!! I am sooo over sewing but I don't think I will finish up their gifts :( I should have stuck with knitting :P
oh and don't woryy if your beeswax comes out of the mold a bit. Once it is hardened and out of the mold you canuse an exacto knife to trim it off.
With a birthday this week and Christmas on the way, there has been a LOT of crafting this week!

Oh goodness I can imagine! I hope you had a wonderful birthday and Christmas!
We made beeswax ornaments for the first time this year...love them. We will be making more next year, so much fun! Enjoy the last bit of merry making.
I'm not knitting much right now either. Sewing is taking over my craft time and I'm working on pajamas for Christmas. :-D
I've spent a lot of time recently crocheting scarves and other odds and ends. I love the beeswax ornaments. Great idea.
