Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

KCCO -Phoebe

With all the excitement over our mermice and Phoebe's Birthday book I couldn't help but pull out Phoebe's Sweater and cast on the Phoebe doll. Shhhh. Don't tell my girls! I am planning on making one for each of them as Christmas presents. I can't believe that I am actually thinking ahead this year. I am normally a 'last minute, get it in just under the wire' type of girl. Anyone else working on holiday gifts? I bet you guys already have some finished, don't you?! Mind sharing your organizational tips with me?

Don't forget to enter for your chance to win your own copy of Phoebe's Birthday here!

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress (or finished works) please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on. Don't forget that there is now a KCCO Flickr group for you to share your crafting photos at anytime.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the KCCO posts you may visit. I know from my own experience just how much your comments really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

It's funny that you mentioned planning ahead to Christmas presents because that has been on my mind lately too. I don't want to leave things to last minute like I often do...
I am not good at crafting ahead for Christmas - mainly because when I finish something I want to recipient to have it and love it right away ;) I get round this by being a selfish knitter instead!

That's great! I've already made several things for Christmas, because I always tend to start my Christmas knitting in the summer. It's a good feeling to have so many things stored away for the holiday. :) I can't wait to see the dolls when they are finished!

I'm usually the first to start on Christmas projects, but you beat me to it this year! Go you! I have wanted to make a felt advent calendar for years, but never get round to doing it. Maybe I will host a calendar sewalong this year to force me to make it?

Here in Holland st Nicholas day is a much bigger feast for children then christmas... I'm making my girls (3,5 and almost 2) hats and socks for their Waldorf dolls. I love to knit and sew in the summer and autumn months in preparation for the Deember holidays... it gives me such a special feeling... longing for those sweet times and looking ahead in how I'd like to celebrate it.
Goodness, everyone is so on the ball this year! I don't remember who it was but Christmas gifts the other day. I'm feeling behind! I'm definitely a last minute kind of gal, too. I'd like not to be, though, just never can seem to get it together. This is inspiration, though!
Oooh! Inspiration to get working on Christmas gifts is just what I needed :) I'm hoping to surprise Jenny with a Phoebe doll too...which yarn are you using, it looks so soft! I got the other two books at last and I'm going to tuck those aside for gifts too I *think*...if I can wait that long!! Happy Christmas knitting!!

Great Knitting gift!
My thoughts are not even organized enough to share any tips at the moment. I tend to procrastinate too, and it always works out well enough, which is not necessarily good cause then I have not so much motivation to get it together. I will obviously need to get all our holiday gifts made before mid-November though! So I guess it's time to start thinking about that. How sweet your dolls will be! My girls want boy dolls now. I have no idea why making boy dolls intimidates me when I have made so many girl dolls with all that hair!
Well as you know I am not making much these days, just a little bit of knitting (did I tell you I started Chloe's fall/winter cardigan?) and a long list of sewing that needs to be done, oh and growing a baby :)
I miss you too!!!!! Thanks for the email. You have me very curious now, lots to catch up on!
Love to you all! Renee XO
I wish I could think about Christmas but with a baby due in about 6 weeks and another life changing event happening In October (need to let that cat out of the bag) I am feeling very rushed and hectic already. I hope to start on Christmas gifts once all the big events are over and we are back to a normal boring life : ) Can't wait to see the dolls.
Oh my goodness!! I just came across your blog last week and am smitten. This weekly crafting on that you started is amazing! I'm joining in today with some Christmas goodies, too. I'm due sometime in December so I'm trying to get as much done now before I loose steam!

Congrats on being prepared. . . I never seen to be able to pull it together, although this year I am planning ahead and hope to start in September!

Thanks for the chance to share.
I admire your knitting and love this weekly event. Thank you!
I'll be back tomorrow to leave my link. Hooray to you for getting a jump on holiday gifts. I'll admit to having a few things done, but nothing grand as I to am a last minute under the wire kind of gal! Perhaps this year will be the one for both of us?!
so far i have put up some jars of things for holiday gifts: strawberry jam, strawberry vanilla sauce, and pickled beets. as for crafting, i have a big list, but haven't quite started it yet. the top of my list is a new christmas stocking for our little baby boy who is due at the beginning of december. i have no choice but to think ahead this year because by christmas i'll have no time for crafting, just nursing and cuddling.

I make Christmas gifts year round, perhaps because most of the people on my list get a handknit pair of socks :)
I have too many overdue gifts as it is to think of future gifts!
I think summer is the perfect time for the kids to make grandparent Christmas gifts, however, we haven't started any yet! ;o)
