Dare Not Forget

We so easily get caught up in this beautiful time... so much to do to prepare and celebrate. I tend to jump right in.

The leaves dancing outside of my kitchen windows remind me to slow down a bit more and not forget the autumn splendor around us.

With napping and loving by the cozy fire,

Stopping to observe the gigantic mushroom by the parking lot at school (we thought it was fake!). C's hand is in the bottom picture to give you an idea of just how big it was.

Playing in the warm water,

getting giddy over a sweet package in the mail (that actually came before Thanksgiving but I forgot to share this picture and it seemed fitting in this post),

Autumn wool crafting of felted leaves and acorns using cookie cutters and wool. C did the wet felting method and K did the needle felting method.

This is such a full time.

No, we dare not forget.

In other news, I thought I would check in with all of you to see what you think of the bigger pictures. I love that the size shows more detail (although these pics aren't a good example... the Spiral of Lights ones were a better idea), but I was wondering what you think. Perhaps they are too big? I wouldn't want to slow down your computers or anything of that nature. Bigger isn't always better. How very American of me to think that way, eh?

Oh gosh, I'm always just so inspired by your family. <3 Much love.
We're stretching the season out this year and starting off with very little, taking it very slowly. It's very (very, very, very ;)) nice, knowing there is no need to rush it and kinda feels liberating! And I love the new sizing. Not too big at all!
The bigger pics are not causing MY computer any difficulty and they show the details so much better ; P
Oh, that's right, it's still autumn! The leaves are long gone here and it's gray outside. So easy to think of it as the cold, bleak days of winter. That sleeping babe photograph is beautiful; a good example of art that is more than visual in its appeal. I'm happy to view your pictures, whatever the size. My computer connection is pokey no matter what, and patience is a good thing.

Ha,ha. Yes I forget that it'sa bit slower here. Back in my hometown of NY there isalready snow and the leaves have been gone for a long time!
Love your boy's rosey sleepy cheeks. Beautiful family you have there! And I love the big pictures.
I love the big pictures too! As lovely as they always are....
Love the big pics...and love that sleeping baby. He is such a cutie. I just laid my own sweet babe down to sleep a few minutes ago, so I love to see another. I have a question....how do you felt with cookie cutters? Is it attached to the cookie cutter? Please help. Thanks, and you kiddos are adorable.

Thanks! I found the instructions through Living Crafts on felting with cookie cutters. Basically just fill your bowl with a tiny bit of hot soapy water (just enough to cover the bottom), then place your cookie cutter in the bowl and stuff it with wool. Use the chop stick (or two!) to poke the wool over and over again causing it to felt. It takes some pateince and time, though. C does it in spurts. HTH!
I love the wool crafts- what a great idea! Now I have something to do with the huge bag of roving sitting in my closet! I'm also curious as to how it's done in the wet method- my little one is 4 in a few weeks and *I* have issues with needle felting, haha!

Ha,ha. I have poked myself more times than I can count, OUCH!

I love your bigger pictures when they are in landscape format but the upright ones do not fit on smaller screens. I also love the smaller ones since your words so beautifully complement the image and there is no need to scroll back and forth.

Thank you for your input! I am going to see if I can fix that. I made the vertical picture in my latest post a smaller size hoping that may help.
Oh that first picture of L makes me melt into a puddle of goo! Such sweet days.
