My Bubbles

Thank you for all the union suit love yesterday. If you want to make one of your own you may want to stop by next week for an upcoming giveaway. Hint, hint

While the rest of the country is experiencing cooler weather our summer has just finally started here in Oregon. Perfect time for a summer dress.
May I present C's new summertime (ahem belated birthday) dress in pictures

Yep, so I finally got around to making C her horse dress. She calls it her 'bubbles' and has been wearing it every day since I finished it. You can see the stains to prove it in some of the pics (I need to work on those). The pattern is the Oliver + S Bubble Dress. I made her the size 4 but with the length of the size 5. Even the size 5 length seems almost too short (you know how I am about the length of dresses and skirts for my girls), yet it's still long enough. This pattern was so much fun to sew up (I can't believe I am saying that as sewing and I do not always seem to agree with each other). I have to give credit where credit is due and thank my friend Ginny for her generosity and saving me (in more ways than one) with this. Thank you, again! Please tell your girls to be on the lookout for mail...

That fabric is out of print I think. I fell in love with it for my son in green and the best I could do was scrounge up two pieces totalling a yard and a half from etsy sellers with remnants. I've been using every little bit from that yard and a half because it's gorgeous fabric--texture as well as print!
Unfortunately what Shannon said is true - it's out of print. I bought it a couple of yearsago :( I'm sorry! You can try googling it though it's by Heather Ross I forgot the name but if you google her name and horses it may come up!
That dress is so beautiful! I dearly miss having a little one to sew for.
Very sweet dress! I agree that many dresses are far too short and I ended making a size up to just to make them longer.
Love it! Donnie is living her passion and it shows. I will share this magical giveaway and yes, I am a follower of you both.
Seriously, seriously adorable! I can't believe that's the 5.. very short.

It's super short right?I mean C isn't even a tall 3 year old!
Very cute! She looks totally in love with her new bubble dress. What a fun little summer dress! :)
This is so adorable! Nicole, I have bben asking around among bloggers, do you have a favorite, really easy (for a novice seamstress like me) dress pattern? Really what I am looking for is a peasant dress with long sleeves for autumn...

C's hair is just like Gemma's...whenever I see her modelling a dress or new woolen, I can picture Gemma in it perfectly!

Adorable! Loving the Heather Ross horsey fabric :)
Aw, the dress is adorable!
It turn out lovely!
This is one of my all time favorite patterns. Yours turned out beautifully!
The name fits - the gathering at the bottom hem does make it look a little bubbly. Glad she likes it. Very sweet.
It turned out so cute!!

How nice the dress turned out, and C is super cute in it! I bet when it gets too short it will still work as a top for a long time. You know I am the same about dress length. Sometimes people in town ask us why our girls wear such long skirts, they act as if we are strange for it.
That picture of C and K reminds me of Chloe and Chessa, those thoughtful looks...
Oh, that is just lovely! You did a beautiful job and should be proud. :-)
