On to the next round of baby knits! I need to post the rest of these soon so I can move on to the things I have been making since he was born. Knitting has really become a way of healing for me lately, so I have been doing quite a bit of it.
You might remember one of L's outfits from my birth announcement post, it was all based on this hat:
L's hat being modeled by K baby
(Hat rav link here) I found the Owl hat pattern on Ravelry and just had to make it. I used some leftover turquoise yarn from K's rainbow poncho. It came out so cute and was so much fun to knit I decided he needed owl longies to match. I used the picky pants pattern (my favorite for longies and shorties) and then modified it to include cabled owls down the side of both legs. It was a pretty simple addition that made them oh so cute. I have the notes *cough* buried somewhere on my desk *cough* and plan on posting them to my rav page (rav link here).
I happened to look in my stash and saw some turquoise owl and cat in a boat fabric (I actually had that fabric for a shower curtain I am working on for the girls' bathroom), and I knew it needed to be made into a shirt. I mean, really, how could I not?! Much to my dismay the complete outfit was never worn by L... the hat was too small for him. We tried it on him right after he came out of the birthing tub (ok, maybe he was dried off first...), and it just wouldn't fit. I will have to get around to making him a bigger one someday soon.
I also felt the need to knit him some baby legwarmers.(rav link here)
I will have to come back another time with pics of him wearing them.
Then there was this rainbow pixie hat that I knit to go along with his rainbow longies. This hat does fit him but I have yet to take a picture of him in it. (rav link here)
The previously mentioned longies (rav link here ). As you can see, I like my babies, boy or girl, to be dressed in lots of color.
Lasty, just because I can never get enough of little baby toes, his winter longies (rav link here), these were in my previous baby knits post with his aviatrix hat.
Round three just around the corner!
