WIP Wednesday : Testing,1, 2, 3 ...

I was recently fortunate enough to test a pattern for my friend Michelle, and it was such a fun experience. Michelle is a very talented knitter (check out her ravelry page) among many other things and has been kind enough to come to my rescue many a times with her knitting wisdom. Believe me, I jumped at the chance to be her tester!

Her latest pattern is a sweet little cotton dress with the prettiest lace trim. It seemed so girly and perfect for C. I couldn't wait to finish it. Rav notes here

It knit up pretty fast and I actually conquered my fear of crocheting with this pattern, as well.

The test pattern was for a younger size but I think it works great as a little swing top, too. Perfect for layering with or wearing alone. As soon as Michelle releases the pattern I plan on making more in wool for our chilly summer days here in Oregon.

What's on your needles? Happy creating!

I forgot to mention, you may have noticed a new addition to my tutorials. I am trying to go back and find all of my old tutorials on here and add them to the left side bar to make it easier for everyone to find.

It is a gorgeous pattern and I love the delicate colours. Your knitting is so even and beautiful too. I find incredibly hard to knit with cotton as it is so unforgiving. Well done!

That is to sweet. I really love the colours ( I am a pink and green nut!).

I will have to do this pattern when it comes out.

That really is quite darling. That bow would be out in 2 seconds here.

Oh, I so want a copy of that dress AND hat pattern! Simply delicious...like something from a book of nursery rhymes or fairy tales. Love the colours....curious about what yarn you used...is it cotton?

What a lovely little dress. It truly is a perfect little girl dress. I fear the edging lacework would stretch my abilities.
I am done the yoke on a mini tea leaves cardigan for Hazel. It is my biggest project to date and I am super duper excited about it.

Your pics are beautiful, Nicole! Thanks so much for testing this for me. It just so happens I posted about this pattern today, too. I'm hoping this will be ready by fall, and I think I'll include some notes on how to add sleeves. Thanks again! It looks adorable on C!

Oh, it is so very beautiful! I love the lace trim, such sweetness. And such knitting talent you have! I have dreams of knitting wool jumper dresses for the girls, they could wear them most of the year here too.

Well I have not been knitting, I have been sewing though, and now it is Chloe's birthday coming up, in just a few days actually, lots to get done! So surely there is something I should be doing other than writing at the computer...

Lots of love to you... XOXO

Goodness how precious!!!
I cannot wait to make clothes for my children, so far scarfs and hats is about how far I have gotten, perhaps this winter.
Thanks for sharing such beautiful inspiration.

Wow! That dress is just perfect on her. :)

Knit and crochet? You talented girl, you!!

*sigh* why is it that every time I'm just about finished designing a pattern, someone comes out with something similar just before I get it out there?!? I guess I'm just too slow! (I've already knitted two of them actually, just haven't managed to get either out in the world) Too much else going on. Oh well. It's really just the top part that's similar.

So, my disappointment aside (lol) that is a seriously beautiful dress on a seriously beautiful girl.
