Foiled Again!

Ack! It's Wednesday and I don't have a post. Well, I have a couple of things I have been working on but didn't get the chance to take pictures. I ended up spending most of the day yesterday at the Urgent Care Center with Miss C. Fingers crossed that she is really getting better now. It seems like the sickies just don't want to leave our house for some reason.

All of that said, I do have a couple pics I found to share. They are things I started working on before the sickies attacked...and have yet to finish.

See that wrap-n-mat with the animals all over it? I got that thing back in 2000 or so when I lived in Cali. I loved it, but after researching vinyl and plastic and their affects on our health I couldn't use it any longer. So, it sat in a box for years and years, until a couple of weeks ago when I took it back out to figure out a way to make my own with out vinyl or plastic. I think I have it figured out. More on that to come, when I have finished them up and post them in my One Small Change post for February.

Above is just a little sneak peek at a special project for an inspiring online magazine.

So there you have it, my cheating (but for a good reason) WIP Wednesday post. Time to get back to my sweet little sick one.

Happy creating!!

Oh, now you have me very curious about how you figured out a solution to the mat! I am flumoxed by vinyl substitutes.

your "sneak peek" is v. cute! I think this all qualifies as a fine WIP Wed.

can't wait to hear more about the sandwich wrap you are making! i have the same conflicts.

There are some laminated cottons that are supposed to be bad-stuff free. Would they work? The only problem is that the wipe-off stuff is on the cute outside! But you could do a double-layer I suppose.

aw, i hope your family is on the mend soon! no fun to be sick!

i made some reusable sandwich wraps for my family that are very similar to wrap n mats (i also have a few of those that are "retired") i used ripstop fabric to line mine, with woven cotton on the outside. the only drawback is that it is a bit slippery so it can be tough for my little ones to properly wrap their own sandwich. other than that we have loved them :)

Sending healing vibes your way...
Can't wait to hear about your Wrap Mat--I ended up just tearing off the plastic lining from mine and using just the fabric. Not the best, but I couldn't see tossing all of them (as I have enough for three kiddos). I love the Snack Taxis but my mom asked if I'd made them, and ever since I've been trying to figure a way how...
Your sneak peek is so adorable, btw!

Hope everyone is feeling better soon!
