Scissor Happy

Ah yes, the age of three.

Cutting with scissors is fun, isn't it?

Especially when it's your own hair! As you can see by her goofy face, she's quite proud of what she did.

This happened the other day while I was putting C down for her nap. K even put the hair she cut into a jar with some pieces of paper she cut up.
I guess they all have to try this at some point, right? I think she could pull off the Bettie Page bangs (unlike me!)...

My daughter never did that to her own hair, but she did it to her doll's hair (which was the same color as her own) and gave me quite the scare. :) It's quite the milestone to cut your own hair. ;)

Ah yes! The fun never ends! I think she could certainly pull off that look--and be quite adorable in the process!!!

Yes, that does seem to be a "Three" thing. My son did the same thing only hours after we spent $20 on a haircut two days before the start of preschool. He whacked it so badly he had to get his first buzz cut after that. I was piping mad, but knew I'd get a laugh out of it in a couple of years. SO many of my mom friends said their kids did the same thing at 3. My dd is 3 now, so I'm nervously waiting for her to figure that trick out.

At least that cut doesn't look to bad on your little angel.

Ha! Love it. I think all kids end up doing this at some point? My daughter cut herself a mullet a couple years back. Wow, that was a disaster! Your daughter looks so cute!

She's a doll!

If it's any consolation, my 3-year-old cut my 1-year-old's hair last month. Eeeeek!

With a face like that, you don't need to do any fixing!

Oh my gosh, what a coincidence! Matteo cut his own hair last weekend! Do you think those two have some kind of long distance cosmic connection? They're only a week or so apart... hmmm

Nevertheless, K is still as gorgeous as ever and it's a great story to share with her future boyfriends :)

I don't think you need to fix it! So cute!

Birdie (age two) cut a straight line up her Hanna Andersson p.j. top while I was nursing the baby. Mmm-hmm.

Actually, I think I were rather it were her hair! ;)

My 3 year old did that, she sees me trim my bangs. I was impressed with her first hair cut, it looked fine. You little daughter looks beautiful and the edginess will fade out soon.

She did a great job! I think it's adorable!
The other day my 3 year old decided to do some baking in the kitchen. She combined brown sugar, food coloring, sprinkles and soy sauce. And ate it. And threw it on the floor. I really should have wondered why she was quiet for so long.

Oh, heavens...Ava's hair was just starting to grow out from the first barber shoppe session that she and Ian had (who's idea was it? No one will fess up!) and then it happened again. This girl will never have pigtails at this rate, so we're going for the cute pixie look. Oh, so sad, but I guess it's just hair...and it grows just like they do!

So early for Bettie Page bangs. She's so chic and cutting edge.

Honestly, I think it works for her. She's adorable.
