Opinions please!

eeek!Ok I'm stuck with C's crown. This is supposed to be a bird's nest with it's eggs inside but the nest just looks like a circle to me. I have 2 different shades or brown floss to use..what do you think I should do to make it more nest-like? This is a very tiny nest so it's hard to do much detail to it. Blah, why do I wait til the last minute to do these things? Tee hee.

Ok but I do have her sheep yoke neck sweater done. It isn't perfect and I really need to work on my tension but I think for my first stranding project (with many colors and my first time following a chart), I did ok. oh btw the button spacing is kinda funky right? the pattern said to do it that way. oh well *sigh*

Lastly some beautiful goodies that just arrived from Shelley aka Waldorf Mama She makes the most beautiful things. I am always so amazed each time something arrives.

Ok back to working, but I would really love everyone's input on how to improve that silly nest! Thanks!!! <3

I think it looks cute and certainly you can tell it's a little nest. So sweet! What if you cut a curved line into the nest so that you can rest the eggs "inside" of it a bit?
...just a thought. Good luck!

I also think it looks like a nest, but echo Amber's advice of adding a small curved piece slightly overlapping the bottom egg if you want it to be a bit more nest-like. It all looks marvelous. Those eggs are really cute. I made dozens of felted eggs for an egg hunt at our house today. They weren't as ornate as those, but so much warmer than the garish plastic ones. :)

Oh, and the sweater is really sweet. I know I couldn't get a yoke neckline to look anywhere near as good as that. She'll look really sweet wearing it. I hope we'll see some pictures.

Oh you can totally tell it is a nest--don't worry! But I agree with amber that an embroidered cruved line below the eggs would add depth!

Oh, and that sweater is exquisite--absolutely beautiful! Luck little girl!

The felted eggs from Shelley are gorgeous--too bad my cats would eat them...they've left my knit-felted "nest" alone so far, but the hanging eggs would be too much temptation!!!

Happy spring,
Kim

The nest is so sweet, it clearly looks like a nest with robin eggs. The sweater is beautiful, I wouldn't have a clue how to do that.

Nicole it is all fabulous!...I can tell it is a nest, the eggs are great, and the sweater you made is beautiful!...It doesn't look like funky spacing to me, I like it a lot...You did a great job!...I wish I could knit like that :-)

love the sweater. Wish I had one like that. As for the nest, I was looking at it and wondered if a multi-pointed star shape (like a rolled up hedgehog) might work. Wondered if the thread being stuck just within the circle is creating the image you're disliking. Perhaps the starburst of embroidery shouldn't be so precise but a little more random in placement, including overlapping onto the crown colour. It's just an image I'm seeing in my head. It may or may not work.

Oh your Easter decorations are beautiful! I also love WaldorfMama's felted eggs! ♥
The sweater is perfect and beautiful, you're so talented, as is the bird's nest. I thought it was just darling, I don't think i'd do anything to it, but is you're not happy, what if you cross hatched the stitches? It all looks wonderful though!

Wow, that sweater! Amazing work, can't believe how much beauty you create while taking care of two little ones.

Do you think adding a little rowing fluff and perhaps a few pieces of yarn mixed in with needle felting to the nest might make it three dimensional and more to your liking?

It's probably too late to chime in, but I think I'd leave the nest alone. It looks perfect just how it is, simple and beautiful. If you added anything more it might look too busy.

OK, I know this is three days later than your post, but...

I love the crown! I think it's perfect how it is. I totally got that it was a nest right away.

The sweater is gorgeous. My daughter is currently obsessed with sheep. What pattern is that?

Also the tree with eggs is so cute!

I just found your blog and I really like it! I added it to my follow list so I can, well, follow it. :)

Oh Nicole, again you stun me with your incredible talent! That sweater is absolutely amazing, what a treasure for C to have always!

I love the crown and can totally tell it's a nest. If you choose to add something, the curved line idea sounds like it should do the trick

What a lucky girl C is to have such a loving, talented Mama!
