Birthday crown suggestions needed

ok got the lovely felt and started the process. It's an early fall birthday crown. K wanted a pink and green one so its pink on the outside and green on the inside.

nothing is sewn down yet, im still figuring out what to put on it and how to arrange everything. I know I want to keep the acorn in the center b/c she really wanted an acorn and I will embroider the letter 'K' on to the acorn for her name.

so I added some apple trees..do you like them? do you like the placement? then on one side i added a squirrel(can you tell thats a squirrel, even?) and the other side a pumpkin (keep in mind that i need to embroider details into everything.the stem on the pumpkin will be embroidered).do they look goofy? is it too much? what should i add between them and the acron? or should i center the trees on the sides of the crown (where its now empty) and put something else on the ends?
ughhh.
why does it look like a 5 year old made it or something? and not in a good way

At least the birds appreciate my knitting!

and here's one now out in our feeder :) We refer to him as 'cardinal husband'. we call all the male cardinals that.

Kevin found this nest in our backyard awhile ago,it fell from our big tree.
As you can see the birds have somehow found scraps of my yarn to build it! I can see the grey from the elephant I knitted K and the cream from K and C's sheep I knitted them.
So if anything else, at least the birds enjoy and appreciate what I do! LOL

Here's my latest project, a sweater for C. I finished K's birthday sweater last week so I htought I would knit one for C too. Hopefully it will fit. Im making the 6 month size. This yarn is sooo soft!

I had to post a close up of my stitch marker. It's a hand made glass hen. I got them off Etsy. I will post the name of the shop they are from in a bit. I have to look it up ;)

my birthday present and K's birthday crown progress

Those of you that know me know I love Martha Stewart. I told Kevin if I was ever to get a dog I would name him Paw Paw in honor of Martha (one of her dogs is named Paw Paw) and well, my family got me this wonderful husky for my b-day. so here's Paw Paw. Someday when we have our farm and not as many house animals I want an Australian Shpeard. His name will be Steve Irwin <3
Anyways, here's my new furry love.

so yes that makes our count as follows:
humans- me,kevin,k and c =4
furry family members- dogs: nara and paw paw, cats: midnight and geisha,rat-boots=5
Looks like the furry family members have us out numbered..at least for now ;)

As always for good measure, a pic of the girls. K was 'reading' to C in this pic.

K's birthday is sneaking up on me. Her sweater has been done but I still need to block it. I just started her birthday crown. She is excited about this. Her b-day is only 3 says before the officil 1st day of autumn but I have always seen her as my autumn baby. So far the crown has a big acorn on the front. I will embroider K on the acorn. Still figuring out how I want to do the rest. I'm thinking apple trees and maybe a pumpkin... I anted to do sunflowers but I can not get my felt to look like sunflowers for whatever reason.

I've slowed way down in my decluttering :( I just haven't had the time lately. I'm sure I'll still make it to 2008 but I was hoping to go over. Plus I've lost a lot of motivation in doing ANYTHING lately. I don't kno whats wrong with me. Hopefully it comes back soon!

It's fun to pick tomatoes! (Llamas for Obama!)

As you can see!
We planted our crop very very late this year due ot the birth of our baby so our tomatoes are just now appearing for us. These are a heirlom variety of cherry tomatoes. K eats them all up off the plant before they even make it into the house.

K's hair is wet from dipping her head in the dog water dish *insert eye rolling smiliey here*

Semi-Important news for the families:

After much debate and discussion we have decided to call baby E by her middle name instead of her first name. Her middle name is easier to pronounce and is more common, plus she just feels more like that name to me. It fits her more. So you won't see me referring to her as E on here anymore, it will now be C. I don't think we are legally changing her name, we may just call her by her middle name but keep her name the same. Apparently that is pretty common. But we shall see. K is getting used to calling her C now instead of E. She still calls her her cucumber either way. LOL

yum yum,beauty and cuteness

Whenever I mention that I am making Subji and Poori a lot of people ask what it is so..here ya go! A visual of the meal I love to make. It's an indian meal. the subi consisrs of cauliflower, potatoes, tomatoes, fresh ginger and cilantro and lots of yummy spices. It is all from scratch and coojs for at least an hour on the stove top to cook down. You eat it with your hands in the poori bread. poori bread is from scratch too (deva deva, don't notice how poorly I shaped them!)and is a deep fried bread. Not the healthiest bread out there but super yummy!

Here's a pic of the sun we have hanging in our playroom. I love the way it catches the light. K and I love to finf all the rainbows it brings us in the mornings.

This is the impression hanging over our sink in the kitchen. The light really makes its beauty even more pronounced.

Our baby girl looking as sweet as ever.

K and her best friend Fi at the playground on base last week. Don't ya just want to squeeze Fi's chub cheeks?!? <3

Circle Time with Tiffeni at Kinderhaus

First this was K's request for breakfast a snowflake pancake with blueberries and strawberries in it. Yum,yum.

Then here she is at circle time last Tuesday (my birthday). She loved it as always. It reminded me of how we used to do it at home until I had morning sickness due to pregnancy. We have to start it back up again.

K likes to play the piano there too :) She didn't want to leave that day so instead of us attending a 1/2 hour circle time we spent 4 hours there. She watched in on a lesson and played with toys. We are hoping to get er some lessons there this year. We do not have a waldorf school near us currently but we will be moving in a year near one hopefully. So we need something in the meantime.

K being a fish. Nara helping.
*images removed. I have tracked these images down at least 2 times now on a search engine and that creeps me out*

E in her glory. Still her favorite place to be,besides with me :)

for the love of my new camera lens

1st here's a random pic of E in a cute dress and matching diaper I got in a 'homemade' craft trade. It was K's. E is in her latest pair of booties I made her, my first try at embroidery too. Something good to know.. don't try and embroider in the dark ;) That pic wasn't taken with the new lens btw.

New lens time:
I take a million pics of E with her play gym.. I know. But she loves it so much!

K drinking her orange juice like a silly girl. This pic was taken with my new lens. I love it!! I love how it focuses on every detail words can't describe how much I love it<3 class="goog-spellcheck-word" span="" style="background: yellow;">br
="">

My firecracker again. She wanted me to take a pic of her on top of her dollhouse. Shes been super feisty lately. Her last molar finally came through so teething is over with now. But shes a 3 year old just about. Anyone who coined the phrase 'terrible twos' must not have dealt with a 3 year old! 2 is nothing compared it this! But we're working through it. Giving her even more love and attention than usual and trying to re-incorporate naps into our schedule.

i LOVE this pic of E. Of course I'm wearing my painting clothes so I am a bad backdrop but shes so cute in this pic!

ETA. I want to thank Shelley (from the 'Waldorf Mama' blog) for her suggestion of this new lens!! and also the mamas on my local AP board for helping to finalize my decision! Thank you thank you!
