Crafting On

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture or two, post it on your blog, on Instagram #craftingon and/or Flickr and then share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

Where did my sunshine go? As you can see it was a gray storm cloud type of day.

I currently have a semi-last minute birthday gift for C on my needles. She has been asking me to knit her some fingerless gloves since I finished my Downton Abbey ones. I thought her birthday was the perfect time to grant her wish. I knew the perfect yarn to knit them with, too - the skein we dyed with Indian Amaranth last fall that C quickly claimed for herself. As you can see the pink mellowed out quite a bit from my previous photos but I actually like it even more this way.

p.s. I decided to make things simpler and just shorten the name of the link up to Crafting On. Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on} just felt too long and slightly complicated.

What are you working on? Happy creating!

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress (or finished works) please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post, Instagram #craftingon or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the Crafting On posts you may visit. I know from my own experience just how much your comments really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

The pink is gorgeous, it's a very natural colour, all strawberries and cream. What a lovely pair of mitts!
What a gorgeous colour and love the pattern, will have to add it to my ones to make.
That yarn is such a lovely color! You are getting me excited about the natural dyeing for third grade. Do you have any books that were especially helpful to you?

Oh yes. They are in with Baby F who is sleeping at the moment though so I'll get back to you ASAP on that ;)
Thanks! I look forward to it. :-)
Eeek! I forgot! I'm sorry. Tomorrow I will get them!
I am so sorry this took so long!! The 2 books we love are Wild Color and Harvesting Color
I love how that natural dye turned out - I love dying pink but have never tried this approach. You've inspired me!
Nice pattern! And I love the yarn! Wish I could find time to try dyeing some. I added the pattern to my Ravelry queue, I was just about to knit my 2 daughters some fingerless gloves so that's perfect. I'm curious as to why you used smaller needles than asked for - is it to make the mitts child size?

Yes! My daughter has very small hands. I might try to sneakily try them on her though before I finish to make sure I am not making them too small.
