Love all the hedgehogs! So cute.
Girl after my own heart! Hedgehogs are my favorite! What a magical birthday. Happy Belated Birthday C <3
Oh, those sweet pictures made my heart melt! She's such a beautiful girl and so lucky to grow up in a loving familiy like this! Those gifts are gorgeous and so full of love...
One question:do you tell her birth story when you tell "her story"? Is this part of your birthday traditions? I'd so love to hear more aout the ways you celebrate birthdays!
be blessed!

Hi Bora!! :D I don't tell her birthday story but the night before I do read the rainbow bridge story to her and then as we light each candle on her birthday ring (on the day of the birthday) we mention some big things that happened each year of her life leading up to the current year. So, for example, I would say, "When C turned one she learned how to use her legs to walk and loved to waddle after the geese at the pond near our home in Virginia. When C turned two she followed the Oregon trail all the way to Oregon. There she learned to talk to the squirrels and run with the rabbits." and so on. Very simple but my children look forward to it every year :)

I posted about our birthday traditions a few years back here: http://frontierdreams.blogspot.com/2011/09/rhythm...
Drinking glass....is that a hedgehog on it? So cute! I love all the hedgehogs.

Yep :) We found that in Oregon before we moved.
Ok...all the hedgie goodies might even be cuter than the squirrel / felt acorn tutorial. Such a beautiful day. Are those gifts wrapped in silks on the table? It never occurred to me to use fabrics or silk as giftwrap (I'm slow I guess) but I've always thought wrapping paper was so wasteful. This is fantastic!

Yes! We use our playsilks for every celebration that includes gifts. Sometimes we use fabric, too (like at Christmas). I thought the children might miss out on the tearing of paper but it never seemed to phase them.
Such exquisite handmade gifts. I love the hedgehog theme. Oh that would of made K feel like a real big girl driving that car. Happy Birthday to your big girl!

Happy (very belated) birthday to C!
Happy Birthday, C! I love how meaningful and thoughtful each gift is!
Love the leg warmers....can you tell me what pattern you used and where I can find it?
It's the Queen Bee legwarmer pattern from Luna Grey Fiber Arts. You can purchase it here or the Luna Grey website: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/queen-bee...
What a special birthday and such beautiful, thoughtful gifts! Happy birthday little one :)
What an awesome birthday! LOVE the banner on the darling cake!
What a fantastic day. I love all the hedgehogs, it's owls this end soon for Abi's birthday! I am really intrigued by the birthday ring, I have never seen one before, how does that work? Does she get a new wooden creature to add each year? Please wish her a very belated Happy Birthday x

Oh owls <3 I adore owls.
We love our birthday ring. It's a Waldorf birthday tradition. Each birthday we add a new ornament to the ring. It takes Kevin and I so long to pick out just the right one to represent the past years of our child's life but it is so fun, too! Some people do it the opposite way and start with the ring filled with ornaments and then remove one and replace it wit ha candle each year. Either way works :)
Lovely! Where did you get the hedgehog cake decorations? Did you make them. What a great celebration.

I wish I was that talented in the cake department :D My friend Tricia made the toadstools, I made the hedgie bunting and then I bought the hedgehog from here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/SugarAndStripesCo?ref=l...
Hi. Is that the geranium dress pattern? I just made one on Sunday for my daughter's 4th birthday (in August).
