My recent theme

113 Easter morning 094 Easter morning Good Friday 143 Easter pants Easter pants New pants are for playing in! dirt fun! 223 222

Part two of our Easter fun. All of the above photos were taken during Holy week and on Easter day.
My children and I all came down with yet another nasty flu during Holy week. On a side note - Seriously, what is going on here?! Regarding sicknesses, this has been the absolute worst year for us. One after another of us caught it and we were sick up until Good Friday. I became anxious I wouldn't be able to attend my retreat on Saturday morning nor the Easter vigil that evening but I am happy to say my prayers were answered and we all woke up Saturday feeling like new, but I'll leave you with that. I am saving the most important part about Easter weekend for another day. I want to make sure I have the time to sit down and really pour myself into that post and not be rushed (like I usually am). I am still reliving the whole experience over and over again in my head.

For now let's look at that rambunctious little boy of mine in his Easter pants. He refused to hold still for me so they are all action shots. New pants are for playing in dirt, right?! Gotta love the ones of him concentrating on his dirt play and Paw Paw trying to give him a kiss! He was saying, "Beep, beep, Paw paw. No! Paw Paw" when I took those two photos. Paw Paw just gave up and walked away after that.

I somehow managed to keep with my recent theme of making things to big for him with these pants, *sigh* but at least he'll get to wear them next winter, too. They look so warm and cozy with the linen and flannel fabrics. I think I botched them a bit, though. I love the fabric, it's out of print and hard to find now so I was a bit more nervous than usual when I sewed them (My friend Cindy knows all about this). I modified them to fit over cloth diapers but must have messed up my mods because now they are quite roomy and puffy looking around the diaper area. I am hoping it's one of those things that is more noticeable to me than to others...

p.s - I forgot to say that Little L's Easter pants are the quick change trousers from Handmade Beginnings.

Eeek! Sorry, they are the quick change trousers from Handmade Beginnings. HTH!
Thanks very much Nicole!
I love them on him! And I love that he said 'beep beep' to the dog, so funny! He is getting so big, when I first started following your blog he was just a little baby, how does time go by so fast? I really really need to make some of those pants for Riggs, but I'm worried they're going to be too hard for me! You are so good at picking fabric and putting fabrics together, I always love the choices you make. So cute!

Oh goodness, he cracks us up with his "beep, beeps". He says it to anyone or anything in his way :p And thank you for the fabric choice compliment! I always wonder if my choices are a bit too crazy...
You know I was just thinking about you the other day when I was looking back at an older post... so glad to "know" you thanks to this blogging community <3
wonderful! love his wee little pants. so sweet. and the pix with the dog... hilarious.
They looks awesome, not bodged at all and not really to big, just comfy. Really. And I should know as I've bodged the pattern a number of times! My girl also got quick change trousers for Easter, but not as nicely made as yours.
I adore your girls dresses by the way, what pattern did you use?

Thank you. Trust me, I photographed them at angles that didn't show the mistakes :p The girls dresses were made using the Sabrina pattern from Olabelhe.
Those pants are SOOO darn cute! I'm not much of a sew-er but they are making me want to dust off my machine. So sorry to hear you were all sick again.
I cannot tell at all where you botched the pattern. These pants are waaay cute! well done! And how fortunate your little ones can play outside. Last week was the first warmish week here in Michigan. My oldest daughter and I celebrated by going to the zoo. It's so nice being outside in the fresh air & sunshine!

Our warm weather was very brief and we are back to the cold, but at least we got a taste of what is to come!
Where did you get the idea for the butterfly mobile? Did you make them up or find a tutorial online?

I actually took that photo at our church so I am not sure how they were made but we plan on making something similar for May Faire this yearso I will let you know once we figure it out :)
Those pants are tooo cute on him! They look so comfy, too!
O my, those pants (and those gorgeous children) look perfect! Perhaps the larger bum will mean even longer wearing... :)
The pants look great! And you know that greatest thing about little boys ( well, at least mine) they aren't too picky about what they wear, and as they are likely to get it covered in something or the other you shouldm't be either!
I love those pants! I modified a pair of thrifted pants for my son's cloth diaper and had trouble with the waist-to-bum ratio. I'm beginning to think of his 1st birthday outfit and these pants are great inspiration! Thanks!
I don't think they look puffy at all. I think it's better for the quick change trousers to be nice and roomy anyway since they're not stretchy.
I have to say that the last picture may be my very favorite on your whole blog! Your son just looks so happy and in-the-moment here!! :)

Oh me too!! He cracks me up with his dogs, he loves them so!
Beautiful photos. This year has been the WORST year ever for sicknesses for us too!! I have heard that from a lot of people!

I wonder if it's something here in Oregon? Maybe because it never really got cold this year:?
I am so sorry to hear you were under the weather but glad you made it to your retreat and had Easter Sunday well. I love his pants and think they look fine. I'd never have guessed they were too big, I thought they were supposed to have a cuff at the bottom as it matches the top of the pants! Here's to spring and good health...Blessings ~Cheryl
Oh, it looks so Springy over there! The trousers look great. Did you also make those beautiful bunnies from Alicia Paulson? They look gorgeous!
