Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

The act of creating, in one form or another, preserves my sanity amongst the chaos of life. This explains why I always have more than one project going at a time as well as why my housework tends to fall behind. I enjoy seeing what others are working on and keeping calm with, too. What are you creating? What is keeping you going? Snap a picture and share it with the rest of us by leaving your link below.

No knitting for me this week. My wrists are bothering me so I am trying to give them a much needed break. However, I do have some homework I am working on from our last craft circle at school. It is an autumn themed pocket doll. Both K and C have already requested ones of their own (since this one is for the school store to sell), so I think I will be a bit busy with these for awhile. Part of me is wishing that they didn't see the one I am working on so that they could have been gifts from the Halloween Fairy. What can I say - Hindsight is 20/20.

After a lot of encouragement from K (who didn't get to see my owl from the previous craft circle due to it selling shortly afterwards) and listening to 'the Lost and Lonely Owl' a few times, I made another needle felted owl. This one was for our nature table, though. I think he came out a bit better than my first try, so just maybe if I keep at it, my needle felting will start to come together...

What are you working on?

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress (or finished works) please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on. Don't forget that there is now a KCCO Flickr group for you to share your crafting photos at anytime.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the KCCO posts you may visit. I know from my own experience just how much your comments really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

I can't wait to see how that dolly gets finished! It looks like such a sweet idea. :) The owl looks absolutely adorable! I have the supplies for needle felting, I just haven't tried it yet...do you know any good resources for getting started? xoxo (And sorry your wrists are bothering you! I know how that goes...hopefully you'll be back at your needles in no time!)

You are always so hard on yourself Nicole! He is a gorgeous wee owl!
Oh I can already tell those little autumn dolls are going to be so sweet! And I love your owl too. Needle felting is fun!
No knitting?!! I hope your wrist starts feeling better.
Nicole, I finally finally joined your KCCO posts! I have been sewing for the girls, a little bit for baby too, and finishing Chloe's cardigan. And knitting super cute little baby socks. And thinking about those longies...
And thinking of you. Miss you! Love you! Bye!

Thanks so much for hosting, Nicole. That little owlet is so sweet. Hope your wrists heals up quickly. Injuries/strain that inhibits knitting is truly a double blow. Rest and recover so you can knit again next week! :)

When you're feeling up to it, I have posted my free pattern for a baby/toddler vest, and hope to have larger sizes up next week up to 3T.

Blessings on the rest of your week!
Thank you for hosting! I hope that your wrists heal quickly.

BTW, I LOVE the pumpkin hats in the previous post!

Adorable! I hope your wrists feel better soon--nothing scarier than achy wrists for a serious knitter!!
Lovely owls. Take care of your wrists.
I hope your wrists start to heal during your break from knitting. The woodland set is adorable! I can see why your kids put in their requests.
your felted owl is perfect!! i wish i could needle felt that well!! hope your wrists feel better!
Nicole, I think that your owl is absolutely adorable! I have tried needle felting before but I have yet to finish something, and mine certainly was not as neat as yours. Thanks as always for hosting KCCO!
Nicole- Are you using a pattern for the pocket doll? I would love to make something similar for my little ones.
Also, have you ever tried wrapping your wrists in castor oil soaked flannels? Check it out- works for me!

That owl is so sweet. I was trying to figure out how to needle felt an owl...didn't look so cute though. I'll have to give it another go.
joining in your craft along...better late than never! Love your needle felted owl to bits!
so cute and wonderful! i so look forward to the time when my daughter is old enough to appreciate, and not just destroy, a nature table. of course, i'm 34 weeks pregnant, so next year (hopefully) when she doesn't automatically crumple the leaves we just gathered, i will have her baby brother to consider too. where do you keep your nature table in your home? is up where Baby L can't reach it? or is he one of those magical children that don't bother displays? my daughter is 2 1/2 and she still gets into everything. anyway, you inspire me for the future...
