Rivalry

I know the breathtaking beauty of autumn in New York first hand as I grew up there, and no other place that I have lived (in this country or otherwise) has ever compared to it. That is until we moved to Oregon. The splendor of this landscape rivals every other - including my beloved upstate New York.

We recently tagged along with Kevin (again) to play and explore at Old Maid Flat while he and Nara did some SAR training. I thought I'd share our adventures in pictures. (of course!)

Beautiful pictures! Thanks so much for sharing these - I feel like I just went for a walk in the Oregon woods! It also always makes me happy to see the photos of your beautiful family... there's just something about images of family togetherness, smiling children, a loving father, dreamy baby eyes... we're constantly taking in images on the internet and in the media in general, and your images, I believe, are a force for good. They put my thoughts in a good place, and remind me to look for beauty, and to treasure my family. You put an awful lot of goodness out into the world with this blog!

Of course you are deserving of them! : ) It's like the pebble thrown into the pond analogy... while sharing pictures and writing posts may seem like a small thing to you, I do sincerely think that the effects are felt in a very positive way by many people. : )

Gorgeous pictures as always! I have to say as someone who grew up in areas that just didn't have autumn/fall, it is quickly becoming my favourite season. I have never been to upstate New York, but having seen photos I think it would be a lot like our local area - Wiltshire - in the Autumn. Every time we go out I just marvel at the beauty of the leaves - golden, russet, brown - against the green of the grass and the pines. The misty mornings. The crisp evenings. And the real feel of seasonal change - things are changing, nature is doing something special as it gets ready to sleep.

Thank you. We didn't really get autumn in Virginia and I missed it so much. I am so grateful to be in such a beautiful part of our country.

That little boy of yours is so sweet. I need to clean up some mossy sweathers myself.... As i´ve lived for a while in US i know about the beauty of autumn in New York state - breathtaking. According to the pictures your autumn seems very beautiful too.
