Keep Calm Craft On {crafting on}

KCCO

Boy am I keeping calm this week. Beautiful weather and entire days spent outside - ah, this is the life! I have really slowed down in the knitting department, but I'm cool with that. I seemed to have lost the motivation and lack the inspiration to pick up my needles. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think it's good to step back every now and then.

I did work a bit on my bird boy's pants while soaking in the sun but they are already proving to be difficult due to insane pooling. I am now alternating between two skeins of yarn using both ends... still pooling. Hmmm, maybe it's time to pick up the last details on C's belated birthday pinafore. I only need to knit the pockets now.

I have a proposition I would like to run past all of you. A couple of weeks ago Anjig suggested making a KCCO button to spread the word. I love this idea but I am so ridiculously unacquainted with computers, so how could I do this? I am lucky to be able to pull off posting pictures on a weekly basis! I know you guys are much more computer savvy than I am, and I bet you have an idea of my style from visiting here. So I am thinking of hosting a contest of some kind to make a button for our weekly KCCO posts (and yes, you'll need to tell me the html code and what have you so I know how to post it and share it :p ), and offer some kind of fun prize to the winner. What do you think? Would anyone be interested in doing that? I'll have to think more about it and what kind of prize(s) to offer - maybe craft related? (if any small businesses are reading this and would like to contribute please e-mail me, I would love it!) It's just something I thought I would throw out there... and now I feel silly and insecure for bringing it up. If you all leave me comments telling me I've gone mad, I'll understand. It would just give me a good dose of humility, which (in my eyes)is a healthy thing to receive.

If you would like to link up and share your current works in progress please leave your link below. It can now be either to your specific blog post or Flickr photo. There are no rules, only that your link is current and something about a craft project (of any kind) you are working on. Don't forget that there is now a KCCO Flickr group for you to share your crafting photos at anytime.

Please remember to link back here so that others who may want to join KCCO can find us.

It's as simple as that. Remember your post can be from any day of the week, it doesn't have to be today. We all love feedback so if you have a moment please leave a comment on some of the KCCO posts you may visit. I know your comments really motivate me! Now please share and inspire us all!

I think a contest is a great idea. I've not very tech savvy either, I usually have to do a search to find step by step instructions. Thanks for hosting the link party!!

Well, I am definitely trying to keep calm and craft on this week, I have finished one pair of alpaca bed socks and I am now trying to design a hat, which keeps getting torn off the needles in frustration!

I think a button would be awesome!

I'm taking a break from knitting too (well, technically my dad sat on my needles and broke the base off, so it was actually just a matter of buying superglue). But it's nice to take a break, you feel less like a machine...

Great idea!! I am not tech savvy either, so I completely understand where you are coming from.

Would love to post a little button on my site and within my post promoting it :)

A contest sounds like a fun idea! I'd love to be able to put your button on my blog.

Pooling...sigh. I love variegated yarns but you just never know when you're going to get bad pooling.

Ha! And here is further proof of my inabilities with coomputers - I have no clue why the intense debate commenting system isn't working right now!Eeek.

That would be a really neat idea! I think it would be really cool to see what people come up with based on how they interpret you from your blog posts. Very fun! :)

Hi, I would have no idea how to do that but think it's a brilliant idea. I'd love to join in with KCCO. You write an interesting, engaging and insightful blog - it's a wonderful place to visit - don't be so hard on yourself!!
Thanks for all the time you take to share your days with us!

I find that I too have on and off knitting times.

I love the idea of a KCCO button, but I have no idea how to make one either!

This has nothing to do with crafting, computer buttons or anything like that...what brand are your shoes? I really like them and want to get some like that. :o)

I was thinking the same thing about the cute shoes!!! :D

Aww, you guys like my shoes? I suddenly feel hip :p I love them becuase they are so comfy and great for hiking and outdoor fun. They were a gift from my MIL last summer from REI. They are by Jambu All Terra Design. I think these are them here: http://www.kaboodle.com/reviews/jambu-all-terrain-mary-janes

Hope that helps :)

Super cute shoes Nicole :-) And I'd love to have your button ~ I am also useless at such things, but I'm sure someone will come up with a gorgeous one (I had a relative make mine!)

I just joined your site recently, and was wondering about a button last time I was here. Although I wouldn't know how to make one, it looks like a lot of other people seem to know. Good idea for a contest. Thanks for hosting this linky party.

Thank you for sharing the link to the shoes - gonna have to head straight over and look for some. :)

I'd forgotten to mention that I haven't really participated in the meme because, well, I haven't much to show off. Still trying to learn - but maybe soon. For now, I come for the beauty and inspiration everyone else shares. So thank you - thank you ALL!
