Rescued!

Our family has expanded, yet again. The latest member is of the furry kind, which is probably not at all surprising. I think it's pretty known that we have a soft spot for animals in need. We do already have quite the zoo and taking on another dog is a lot but we couldn't refuse this little guy.

Meet our new little man Beowulf. Or as Kevin calls him 'Sir Beowulf the Brave'. This brave little guy was horribly neglected and abused but he was one of the lucky ones, he was rescued from that horrible situation and is now here with us. It has only been a few days but he is truly part of us already.

The girls are just smitten, and K has already declared him her puppy. I don't think she realizes this little guy will more than likely grow to be even bigger than our other two dogs. (He's an Alaskan Malamute/Siberian Husky/wolf mix.) For now she is enjoying having a puppy that is just her size.

Here's to rescued animals of every kind and the hope that someday there will be no more need for rescuing them!

Oh that face! I can see why you had to bring him into the tribe. It's very heartwarming knowing he will be loved and cared for.

he is so fluffy and adorable! I can't imagine why anyone would ever neglect or abuse an animal...? Violence and abuse make me feel sick to my stomach.
This dog will learn to trust again because you have shown it love and compassion:) ---which is what he deserves! And what a great lesson for your girls! ::hugs::

A girl after my own heart! There are so many beautiful creatures out there who need warmth and love - so good of you to open up your home to this sweet little pup. :)

I love the last line. I foster cats for a rescue group but I would love for there to be no need. For everyone to desex their animal, and for everyone to be kind to the animals they have. He's a very luck pup to have landed with you!

Oh, what a lucky pup and lucky family. I love his face and name! Rescue dogs sneak right into your heart, don't they? Congratulations on your newest family member.

Beowulf is the PERFECT name for this noble soul. Imagine what he could have become if he'd been left in his initial situation, and the potential of what he WILL become now that he has a loving home! Adopting a pet makes a difference to the animal AND to your family. We got two kittens this week and the kids are smitten, too!

LOVE the name. One of my most favorite stores I read in high school.

We are thinking about getting another pup to give Stingy a friend. I am very apprehensive about it as she is a handful, but I think a friend would help her.

He has a sweet, sweet face and you can tell that he has been through a lot. So glad he found you all. Congrats!

I think I love him too, he reminds me so much of our sweet white German shepherd, she was rescued from the side of the road in Ohio long ago (not with us anymore...)

Beowulf is sometimes read for 4th grade Waldorf, not sure if it will appeal to Chloe though so might be skipping...

I am so happy you saved him!

Lots of love from your friend whose family has rescued dogs, cats (maybe too many?) and now 2 horses too! Thank goodness the horses don't live in the house!!!

XOXOXO

He's beautiful! We rescued a sweet little pittie girl named Zelda a few months ago. I'm already wondering when we'll be able to rescue another!

Welcome Beowulf!

Congratulations on your newest family member! I just blogged about a rescue and foster we did this summer - hopefully you will inspire some of your readers to jump onto the rescue-wagon and save some of these animals that so need us and deserve to be loved and well cared for! Enjoy your new puppy!
Blessings,

Oh that is so so sweet. I love his face, it is just too much. We rescued out German Shepherd from similar abuse 10 years ago, and he just passed on July 17th. He was such a joy, and while it is hard to imagine anyone ever hurting an animal, it is so nice to know that there are people like you out there to take them when they need you most. Enjoy your time with your new family memever

We also have a husky mix. We rescued her from a really bad situation & the kids just love her so. Beautiful photos. :)

Thank you for Beowulf's warm welcome! He's such a little rascal but we are having so much fun with him. I *think* he will have to be our last rescue for quite some time just simply because of the cost of vet bills and food, etc but I do love the idea of possibly fostering some sweet souls. We shall see! I hope my girls grow up to help out animals in need, too.

The word RESCUE means alot to us also. We have quite the collection of animals, most of which are rescued from one spot of life or the other. Thank you for caring............and yes I believe your children will grow up to know how to love.

He's just adorable. We to have a soft spot for any animals,, We've also got another addition to our family, a little street mutt in Dominican Republic, she's only a few months old and was ridden over by a motor bike so someone brought her over to our farm, only our 3rd rescue dog. Her name is little Lulu and she's just too adorable, she's a little aggressive but nothing that I'm worried about, the children have so much fun with her. We also rescue horses, we have 15! What joy we get from animals!
