I can't believe it is already December, and that this weekend is St. Nicholas day! Luckily I finished up K's gift just in the nick of time, pun intended.
The last piece for this gift that I had to finish was the skirt. I made it up as I went, which kind of worked. I just wish I made the a-line flare out a bit more, and that I had time to re-do the flowers. Oh well, I don't think K or her 'K baby' will mind.
Complete outfit
I literally used up every last thread of my drool worthy yarn from Melissa (who just had a beautiful baby boy, by the way!) at Ram in the thicket. I am so glad I hung on to that yarn for so long waiting for the right project to present itself to me. C is very fortunate to be receiving beautiful handmade gifts made by Shelley of Waldorfmama from St. Nicholas this year. I am really enjoying keeping this season all handmade!
Mini Lyalya Hoodie
Another knitting project in the works is a mini Lyalya hoodie for 'C baby' to match the one C has. Although in our house those hoodies are better known as 'Gnomey, gnomey, gnome' hats. I had to play with the stitch count and needle size quite a bit but I think this should fit. I am almost done but ran out of yarn so it's now on a stitch holder waiting to be finished (which explains the funny pic). In the meantime I am starting up the mini one for 'K baby' out of the yarn I used to make K's.
Lastly, are ornaments, ornaments and more ornaments! None of which are for myself, which is funny because I need to be making some for us, too. In due time. These ones are far more important.
Candle, candle burning bright, fill us with your holy light, may your flame of joy and love, glow now in our hearts.
Another wet felted candle in the works, but much smaller to hang on a tree. This one is very special because of who it is going to. I will post more about that as the time comes.

It's all so very, very lovely! That outfit, I could just squeak, it's SO cute! We keep St. Nicholas day very simple here with just a clementine, dark chocolate coins (thank you Whole Foods, who just put them out last night!) and an organic candy cane. I can't wait to see more of your ornaments. Do you give each of your kids an ornament each year?

The knitted snowman is actually a pattern featured in last winter's issue of Living Crafts. It's one of my favorite patterns.
