Budding Photographer: A Guest Blogger of sorts
{Photo by K}
Lately, I just have not had the inspiration to pick up my camera at all so I let K do it for me. She knows how special my camera is to me so she was beside herself when I told her she could use it and showed her how.
I know my photography is nothing special and has plenty of room for improvement but even so, it is such a big part of me. Ever since my late teens it has been a huge outlet for me, something I just can't seem to live without, so to see K show such an interest in it made me giddy with excitement. So, of course, I just had to share this moment with you!
K's pictures in her own words:
{My first picture, I was really trying to take a picture of kitty *giggles*}
{I got kitty dressed in Banana Baby's clothes for her session and asked her to sit still}
{The farmer visiting the other Daddy farmer}
Who knows, maybe photography will become K's outlet, too. I look forward to many more photography sessions to come! Perhaps I need to get her her own camera though.....
Wishing you and your little ones many moments of creative fun!

love seeing life through her perspective. she is a treasure.
This was such a neat post. Nice pics K!
I Love K's photos!
So sweet! You both have a lot of talent with the camera. Enjoy!
I love it, it was fascinating to see what she wanted to take pictures of. I may let my son try this. Beth
Very cute! K seems like a natural. :) We occasionally let our oldest 2 kids use our camera. It makes me nervous, but I know it's good for them. My 9 yo daughter actually has a decent eye for composition. She's the artsy one so I guess that's no surprise. Looking forward to more photography from K!
Her words and photos, so very sweet! xo
I love these! I love the captions more- one of my favorite things is to hear my daughter describe her photos... great that you captured this! Thanks for sharing.
how wonderful to see life through her eyes! So sweet!
Nive post! I let my son take my camera sometimes too (when he was 3 years old, I didn't move away from him of course, but with 7 years now, I guess he can handle it): I started to gather his pics under a label specially for him, so that we can find them easily in the computer. I LOVE what he shoots, Love the way children see their world (our world)- K. made really beautifull pictures, just like A. Soule,I think, who's fotografy I adore! - But I don't agree with you; for me, your way to fotograph, is very beautifull, honestly! I like the light in your pics, you've always that sweet light, nothing too clear or too sharp (must be the influence of Waldorf;-) )
I like your blog; it's one of my fav, I check almost everyday!Goon and enjoy it!

Lovely post and I adore the wooden camera. Where did you find it?
I would love to know where you got that great farm set up? The barn and people and animals, did they come together or are they from seperate places? Thanks!!!
I love her comments on the photos! We let Josh use our point and shoot digital camera. He is really careful with it and loves taking pictures. It makes me thankful for digital photos so he can snap away to his heart's delight and we don't have to pay for film processing.
K is quite the photographer. :) I love seeing your home through her eyes.
her and xi seem to have a similar passion...;) i love k's photos..:) xoxoxo
nicole, i echo your words completely...i am not a photographer, have SO much to learn (and all i have is a point and shoot!), but it IS one of my crafts, outlets, and feel-good parts of my day. and my daughter, also, likes to take photos and is so careful when i hand her the camera. i want to be able to buy her her own, soon.
i love her photos, especially of her own camera!

She's obviously picking up on your photographic skills :)
One of my favorite photos is one that Matteo took of his great grandfather, you can see the tenderness in his face as he looks at his great grandson taking his picture.
How fun would it be to have K and Matteo take photos of each other someday?
Thank you everyone, I am passing on your kind words to K!
Deborah - Thank you so much! I am speechless over your kind words. Thank you.
Melanie - The wooden camera was a gift to K on her 2nd birthday. I am not sure of where it came from but I know I have seen them online... maybe camden rose? Or rosie hippo...
Michelle- Thank you. The set up is an assortment of things. The barn itself is from Kinderkram, the animals are Ostheimer and the trees are buntspechte.
Marina - <3 Thank you! How amazing that would be,indeed! I wonder how sweet each of them would look captured by the other *sigh* <3
Ok, I think I need to convince someone in my family ot get K a point and shoot for Christmas! :p
Thanks again everyone!!
Found your blog through Sew Liberated...I can understand your feelings about your camera...even though my photos may not be great, taking them is something I absolutely love doing! My son takes photos with my camera all the time, and I'm often amazed at what he captures. Your daughter's comments are great too...I should start keeping up with my son's. Your photos look beautiful to me : )
Ash - Thank you for your kind words. I'm so happy you stopped by! Meg is so inspiring, isn't she?!
I love that you are already giving your daughters a voice through art. How awesome that art is not just a 'big girl' thing to do. I really respect the way you raise your girls.
The picture of K and the tabby is just precious.
Thank you so much. That means a lot to me! I am trying my hardest.
