More wildflowers!
We started the day with picking wildflowers on the side of the road. I think I would have vases all over my house filled with wildflowers if I had such an abundance near my house. Seriously, these flowers have been everywhere!

Then we walked over to a farm across the street to see what was growing in the field,
We found some grasshopper friends as well.
We then continued along the Oregon trail:
Our next destination was Fort Kearney. This was one of the 6 primary forts built to protect the pioneers on the Oregon Trail.
Hello up there!
K climbed a tree there and with some help from Daddy had some friends come visit
Our last stop for the day was at the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument. This was built over I-80 in Nebraska commemorating the old wagon trail. Unfortunately it was closed when we got there but it was still such a beautiful sight to experience.
More to come... this feels like the never-ending story!

Cat - I am so sorry I haven't had the chance to e-mail you back yet!! I have something to mail you ;) We still don't know about the house yet..fingers crossed though!
Lilia - Thank you so much!!! Give it a try for sure! It's so much fun!! A point and shot will work, too. I am often without my EOS and use my husband's point and shoot. One of my favorite pictures I took of a tractor and corn was with his camera. With the right lighting almost any camera can bring great pictures.

Loving your travel log...not to rain on your wildflower parade, but keep an eye out for signs posted against picking...it varies by state, but in parts of the southeast it's illegal and a fineable offense. Just a friendly warning...

Thank you! You're not raining on our parade :) In Virginia we had those signs everywhere so we never touched the wild flowers but so far on this trip we haven't seen any signs saying not to pick. Thank you so much for the reminder though, it's easy to forget those kinds of things when you are in the moment! That would be the last thing we need :p
