Rare quite times and more K yarn picks

K picked out this yarn today for me to knit her a pair of socks. Shes excited about them. We also picked up a sheep tape measure, b/c we felt we needed it LOL It's really sweet, made in Vietnam by a small village completely fair trade.

A sheepy sack for little Sprout. I may need to re-do the drawstring though, i think I made it too short.

A rare quite moment with K and daddy. Both are reading books by Cesar Milans on how to train Nara.

Geisha has taken over my nursing pillow. I put it on the floor for her..at least until the baby is born.

K's 1st drawings and Sprout's coming home outfit is done!

well, Sprout's coming home outfit is prettt much complete now with the cardigan to go with those longies I made and a hat as well. I will also bring a pair of socks to go under the booties and a t-shirt to go under the cardigan. The cardigan seems to be a bit big so I'm not sure about Sprout being able to wear it right away.

Yesterday I was busy cleaning and I heard K say "I made something come see!!" with a cute, proud giggle. So I went to see what she was doing and she had out her sketchbook and crayons. I looked at her picture (the top one in purple) and she told me it's a kitty cat and she then proceeded to show Midnight and Geisha her creation. I was completely blown back by this b/c I never expected her to be able to actually draw anythign at 2 years and 5 months of age BUT also what makes this more amazing to me is that we follow the waldorf teachings so we don't show her how to draw, she doesn't see us draw or anything like that so she did this all on her own without any adult pushing etc.

Then that night she wanted to draw for Daddy when he came home and drew these kitties. None of her kitties have ears LOL but we are not telling her how to draw them so they will look how she feels they should look like.

knitted farmyard playmat swap! 11 knitting mamas and me!

The swap is located on Mothering.com :
http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=847591
We are inspired by the new magazine 'living crafts' and also 'the knitted farmyard' book.
I am very fortunate to have been given a copy of the knitted farmyard from my friend Tiffeni back in December :)

Basically there are 12 of us and we each knit 12 of the same block for the farmyard then we exchange them and end up with 12 different pieces to put together and form a play mat. This consists of:

Sheep pasture
Wheat field
Barnyard
Pond
Horse Pasture
Flower Meadow
Oat field
Garden plot with raised beds
Vegetable garden
Plowed Field
Corn Field
Hay Field
Here is a link to the 'living crafts' info on it: http://www.livingcrafts.com/page/Winter0708
I need to subscribe to this magazine. It's a Waldorf inspired craft magazine with amazing projects.

I am doing the horse pasture block since it will be simpler and I will have a lot on my hands with Lini, Sprout and all the furry animal babies. I am so excited about this. Not only will it be a great play mat for K to play with her farm animals and tractor, etc on BUT also it will be a great tummy time mat for Sprout!

Here's a link I was just given with a farm mat made by someone else:

Longies being modeled by K

Here she is in her longies she requested from me! Wwe have an action shot on the swings on base and two pics taken ta the picture people for Valentines day.
Justso you all know your v-day cards are late this year. we couldn't get her appt until Monday and then Tuesday I had food poisoning or a virus (i'm thinking poisioning though b/c everyone else is fine) so I haven't even made it to the post office yet and v-day is tomorrow.

K took care of me yesterday and cuddled in bed with me all day. She is so amazing, I am so fortunate to have her. The cats curled up with us all day too.
Today i'm still nto at 100% but doing A LOT better which is good b/c tomorrow lini has a playdate so I want to be back to perfect health by then.

Park play date

The weather has been in the 70s and even reached 80 degrees last Wednesday so we took advantage of it and went to the park with Fiona and D'Anne. K had a lot of fun as you can see :) I am so happy that my little girl loves nature and to be outside so much, that's so important to me. It's most mama's nightmares but I LOVE it when she plays in the mud and the dirt and she did just that at the park. Basically Kevin wasn't allowed to get dirty when he was little and so now hes very particular about how clean he is so I'm hoping to avoid that with lini. LOL sounds funny I know! I want her to know how to be clean but just not fanatical about it,know what I mean?

I am knitting a cardigan now to go with Sprout's longies and booties I made, this will probably be her/his coming homne outfit. We are still stuck on a name. We are thinking of something either Irish or German b/c we are both. BUT I love the name Nicolai for a boy which is Russina and Sonora (Nora for short) for a girl which is Spanish.. so we'll see, LOL.

I finished K's longies that she wanted me to knit out of the yarn she picked out. She loves them and they fit so well! I will have pics of her in them on Tuesday, we are going to the Picture People to get her Valentines day pics taken. It's funny b/c they look so long and tiny but that's how she is a long lean girl.

Nara is growing every day!
