I just found this blogspot and feel so inspired at the complete devotion you have given to your family. My daughter is 26 months and throughout the duration of her first 2 years I've been working or taking classes or both and just trying to make it through on my husbands server salary in San Francisco. I feel as if I've given her such a disadvantage in life. There so much I didn't know and so much time lost just grinding through life. I need to finish school and my husband needs to continue working but I want to start to live differently and parent differently and feel that the theory of Waldorf offers so much of whats been missing. Where should a person like myself, with very limited resources living in an urban setting, begin to make such large changes to a lifestyle like Waldorf?

Hello, I so enjoy your sight. I just finished my second Phoebe sweater, the first for my 3 year old grand-daughter named Phoebe and last night one for my 4 year old grand-daughter Addison. I thouhgt you might like some insight on finishing the hood. I was not happy with the way the first one looked, so this time I discovered that if you stop after row two you can then finish as directed it looks almost exactly the same as every other row. Unfortunately I still had trouble picking up the correct number of stitches for the hood, causing me to restart at least 3 times. The girls get so many compliments on these sweaters that I am sure you will be happy with the finished product. We did discover that they are not the best to play in the leaves in since they are 100% wool and catch every little piece debris. Thank you again for sharing with us.

Hi Nicole! I have recently started reading your blog and I want to let you know how much of an inspiration you are. I have been interested in Waldorf since the birth of my son Kai who is now 2 1/2 and although I have read many books on Waldorf philosophy I still struggle with daily rhythm. I also have a 3 month old which makes having a sound daily rhythm a bit challenging. What advice or books would you recommend for help with daily rhythm and also curriculum/things to do with my toddler at home as he does not go to preschool. Thank you!

I stumbled upon your blog via Pinterest.

I am the mom of 4, ages 22, 20, 16 & 13. I too live a simple family focused life. When mine were small we did without many worldly things, and in their place we soaked up love, music and curiosity. I took a few photos (that was back before the convenience of digital) and many have the same feeling that yours do. Thanks for the reminder that mine was a beautiful young life.

Hi! My girls go to a small Waldorf school in Northern Virginia and we have a 3rd on the way. We dream of moving West to Portland. I love your blog!

We are most likely homeschooling the girls - then lower Kindy and 1st - starting in the fall and I'm trying to get a supply list together(starting early so I don't have to do it after babe arrives). We very much want to stick with the Waldorf style. I'm having a hard time finding a Waldorf style chalkboard and noticed one in some of your pics. Also, I love the wooden shelf that extends out, as well as the frames you have in various pictures (wooden, large/small also in the W. style). Can you share where you got these items? Thanks so much!

Hi Nicole,
What a beautiful blog you have created - thank you! I have both been involved with the Waldorf world forever and now have two children at the Roaring Fork Waldorf school in Colorado. My husband, Charles Andrade has been Lazuring and teaching the technique in Waldorf schools all over the world for over 25 years. We just completed a DIY Lazure kit with a detailed instructional video as there is such limited and often incorrect information about the process. I thought this might be of interest to you? It is still one of those most treasured places in the www. where I can find inspiration, comfort and a special feeling of harmony and stillness and tenderness which i truely need in my buzy mama's life. I discovered your blog by chance, while looking for images about the Advent Wreath. I am also a blogger and I have a Christmas Story and Chronicle, published on my blog. I think of translating the chronicle into English, even for this Christmas. But I have an article written in English about children and the fall of birth. I'll buy the link here.
